We Baltimoreans know a thing or 2 about shortstops who can’t hit: Mark Belanger AKA the Blade.
I remember Belanger. His lifetime average of .228 wasn’t so bad for a shortstop of that era. Oyler? I think his lifetime was about .175, still roughly 40 points higher than that 1968 year when the Tigers went all the way.
