On Saturday, a police officer in Filer, Idaho responded to a call about two dogs running around without leashes on a suburban street. Thirty-eight seconds after exiting his patrol car, Officer Tarek Hassani determined that one of the animals was too aggressive and fatally shot it in the front yard of its owner's house. A video ...shows the 7-year-old black labrador convulsing and whimpering before moving out of the dash cam's line of sight.
The dog, named Hooch, belonged to Rick Clubb, who says he suffers from Parkinson's disease and that Hooch was his trained service animal. At the time of the shooting, Clubb was apparently inside, hosting his 9-year-old son's birthday party....
Police Chief Tim Reeves explained to a local Fox affiliate, "My decision was that [Hassani] did a good job and he was totally justified in putting the dog down."

Ruby Ridge mean anything to you?
If I ever get a terminal illness I’m going to look up somebody like this and explain to them the error of their ways.
I'm sick and tired of "having the cops back" on these stories. It's gotten well beyond the point of giving the cops the benefit of the doubt.
How many people have and breed dogs for self protection? In the states where guns are hard to have, the dog is the best friend. And if an ex-felon can’t have a gun, he will have a dog.
Yep, mooslime terrorist sleeper cell member. Shoot the bastard!
Thanks. I had forgotten.
That was over twenty years ago, though.
Time to resurrect the tradition.
He don’t have to be a Muslim. Cops today are total military.
They are not looking to help. Only to boost their poor ego.
The answer can be summed up in a single word:
Conditioning.
Stop, Drop, and Cower

It has been that long. I was in Oregon at the time. Things have gotten worse. Fascist pigs.
This one makes me cry. A tail wagging labrador service dog, really??? I wrote my first nastygram on a dog shooting to the police chief at Filer. Told him he owes the family a big apology and a service dog and I hope he’ll do the right thing.
“2500 penalties for each violation.”
which taxpayers will get socked with.it should come out of their pensions/salary.
Maybe the ‘service dog’ thing fails....maybe, but, did you see the video? Do you think the jackboot could have tried his spray first? How about his taser? How did the USA’s mail men survive all of these years? How many dogs did they have to shoot? This dog was not some ROP monster pitbull already latched onto the jackboot’s leg causing a life threatening situation to him either. So now a young boy’s best pal is gone and for no damn freakin’ reason. If this had been your boy, and your/his dog how would you feel? Would you tell your boy the jackboot had NO other option other than to kill his best pal when he cried to you......”Why Dad, why did the policeman kill my doggy?”
The cop tries to kick the dog in the head and then wonders why it isn’t friendly. You have to love the “is this your dog, I just shot your dog, give me your ID now or you’re going to jail for obstructing justice.”
I think that he [the cop]is an Affirmative Action. that makes him immune from laws, firing or any determental [to him] action. He [and the others of his ilk] can only be promoted.
I watched the video.
It pains me to see a dog shot like this but,
I’m going to have to side with the cop on this one.
Could he have handled differently? Probably.
If he had dog biscuits with him
and tried to calm the dogs rather than kicking at them,
perhaps this would have ended differently.
BUT, the owner appears to be habitually irresponsible.
He does not control his dogs.
I would never let my dogs run loose
because there is the possibility that something like this could happen.
If you care about your dog, contain it.
This owner is ultimately responsible for what happened.
He should not have had a dog.
He was unworthy of it and the dog paid the price.
She is suing the officers as well as the agencies. If she wins, the officers will be paying with their own money, but the taxpayers will also pay for the agencies.

Then you sir are as much a waste of space as your Officer..
