Following through on a campaign pledge, Mayor de Blasio said Monday that he’ll push to create municipal ID cards so illegal immigrants don’t have to “live their lives in the shadows.”
While the cards would be available to all New Yorkers, they would be aimed at undocumented immigrants who don’t have access to bank accounts, library cards and even memberships at Costco because they can’t produce official photo ID.
The cards could be used to secure apartment leases and MTA senior passes.
But they couldn’t be used for government benefits not otherwise available.
“To all of my fellow New Yorkers who are undocumented, I say: New York City is your home, too, and we will not force any of our residents to live their lives in the shadows,” the mayor declared in his first State of the City address.
He repeated the sentiment in Spanish.

Sure illegals are great, better than Americans. let’s do everything for them imaginable. make it easy for them. Give them benefits.
After all this nonsense is completely upside down and America means nothing.
How’s this for an approach? Millions upon millions of people want to come here from all over the world. So America can chase these people the heck out and make our on decisions on exactly who we want here.
But no, that would mean America is worthwhile. Even more worthwhile than some illegal foreigner.

So you are telling me that the only reason to do this is because illegal immigrants who paid others thousands to get here and for pilfered social security numbers, etc. don't want to spend another $25 at the flea market, the government needs to give them IDs yet American citizens cannot be compelled to get an ID to go vote?
Apparently American voters without photo ID don't go to Costco, the library, or the bank.

If they can do this, then they can make having an ID in order to vote.

If these cards are officially recognized ID what would stop illegals from registering to vote?
Will these ID cards ID them as ILLEGAL ALIENS ?
Do they have to use these I.D. to vote or just to get benefits?
