Someone brought this up yesterday....why would anyone draft a player it will be impossible to cut without massive controversy?
Maybe the owners of the Pittsburgh Steelers? They think they are the holiest people on earth, better than anyone else.
Of course the NFL teams cut players and get new ones just about every day of the week. Rosters are very unstable. So if Sam (or any other player) is drafted by some NFL team, regardless of what round, and is signed, he can be cut without future pay unless his contract specifically prohibits it.
But then you have these leftist commentators who would be quick to charge "discrimination" if that actually happened, despite the fact that it happens in the vast majority of instances to heterosexual players. You could see a lawsuit in this situation, and you can bet that although Sam's case would probably have no legal merit, the politically correct NFL would want to settle the suit ASAP to avoid prolonged negative publicity from their lefty media friends.
