A man convicted in the shooting death of a federal Border Patrol agent during a firefight that revealed the government's botched gun-smuggling investigation known as Operation Fast and Furious was sentenced Monday to 30 years in prison.
Manuel Osorio-Arellanes, who is from El Fuerte in the Mexican state of Sinaloa, is the only person to be convicted in the Dec. 14, 2010, shooting death of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry near the Arizona-Mexico border.
U.S. District Court judge David C. Bury handed down the sentence, 360 months with credit for time served.

FBI Criminal Informant Complicit in Brian Terrys Death (PJM Exclusive)The rip crew was in Peck Canyon that evening with the intention of stealing money and drugs from a specific shipment of which they had prior knowledge.
(snip)
The rip crew knew to be in Peck Canyon that December evening because a CI working for the FBI found out about a smuggling run from the FBI.
(snip)
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) through its own CIs and communications intercepts was also aware of the planned assault.
Neither the DEA nor FBI warned Border Patrol about the expected criminal activity.
(snip)
The federal government will still not reveal if one of the two WASR-10 AK-pattern semi-automatic rifles located near the scene provided to the Sinaloa cartel via Operation Fast and Furious was the weapon that put a bullet through Brian Terrys heart. The existence of a third recovered gun, an SKS carbine, has been disputed by the FBI despite the fact it had been talked about openly in the beginning of the investigation among federal agents.
Multiple sources tell PJM that this third weapon disappeared because it was the weapon carried by the FBI CI who ran the rip crew. When it was recovered near the scene of the murder and subsequently traced by the ATF, it traced back to the FBI CI via the gun shop in Texas where it was purchased.
Brian Terrys murder was entirely preventable. The incompetence of the DEA and FBI let his Border Patrol unit walk into an ambush. After the ambush, it appears the FBI tampered with evidence to cover up that one of their informants was involved with the murder of a federal agent.
You can kill a BP agent and not get executed for it?
Guess it’s another privilege of being part of the Protected Class known as illegal aliens.
Has anyone in the Justice Department been reprimanded, fired or indicted?
The only part of Fast and Furious that was botched is that it was uncovered. Otherwise it was working perfectly according to plan. The goal was to have firearms that were sold at U.S. gun stores show up at Mexican crime scenes. Then Obama would have had the "evidence" needed to renew the national assault weapons ban.
Partly my take also.
Put him in front of a firing squad.
The criminals behind the criminals?
My first thoughts too.
And that is where it makes their little plan even more egregious. They planned to cause mayhem and even murder in Mexico and along the border. It had to be severe enough to convince Americans that we needed tighter gun control laws. That is called premeditated murder by most standards.
Damn. So she was in on it too.
OK, fine —he got 30 years. We’re not getting ANY acknowledgement on the mysteriously disappearing THIRD weapon, the SKS.
We’re hearing NOTHING about the gummint’s role in arming the murderers.
We’re hearing NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT about the gummint’s role in apprising the rip-crew about the drug load that night.
The Mexican perp got prison time, fine.
HOW ABOUT THE AMERICAN PERPS...?
It went like this:
The snitch’s value was compromised cuz he’d lost a drug load so his narcotrafficker bosses were pissed —the snitch would probably no longer hear about loads and he might even get killed. His American LEO bosses wanted their snitch to get back nice and tight with his scummy narcotrafficker bosses so they could still get their drug intel.
The US LEO scumbags figgered if their snitch could somehow rip-off a rival load, then this snitch would be able to make it up to his narcotrafficker bosses, and he (and therefore they) would have access to bust info again.
So they gave the snitch info about the impending rival load, and at the rip Brian Terry was murdered.
They realized how scandalous it might seem, and so they made the 3rd gun, the SKS, go away.
The original politician who went out, prominently kicking up a fuss about US guns creating a DIPLOMATIC problem was HILLARY, the Secretary of State.
She was as always loud and indefatiguably clear about how Mexican violence was the fault of nasty US guns.
Hillary went out there, time and again, screeching about guns before US cameras, dutifully laying the groundwork for a wave of attention to focus on innocent Mexicans getting gunned down by oily, abdominous, belly-laughing narcotraffickers cackling with sadistic glee, thanks to, uh.....The Founding Fathers.
Yeah.
A casino was attacked with grenades, shot up, and lit on fire. There was something like 20 people stacked up dead in the bathroom where they had fled since it had contained the last bits of fresh air.
A party of Mexican high-schoolers got surrounded and shot up, and blood was everywhere.
BOTCHED? Not botched at all —Fast and Furious was succeeding at those points like never before. THAT WAS THE TYPE OF THING THAT GAYMUZZIE AND HIS HENCHMEN *WANTED* TO HAPPEN.
They wanted heart-wrenching, grisly headlines, and they got them.
Never let a crisis go to waste, right?
UNDER THE RADAR, right?
FUNDAMENTALLY TRANSFORM, right?
