Sen. Charles E. Schumer, New York Democrat and an author of a comprehensive immigration bill passed last year by the Senate, suggested that Congress should enact immigration legislation now and delay enforcement until President Obama is out of office.
Mr. Schumer pointed to recent comments from Republican leaders, including House Speaker John A. Boehner, Ohio Republican, that they want to pass immigration legislation but they dont trust President Obama to enforce the laws.
So theres a simple solution: Lets enact the law this year, but simply not let it actually start til 2017 after President Obamas term is over, Mr. Schumer said on NBCs Meet the Press.

Pretty smart move on Schumer’s part. Pass immigration reform now, piss off the Republican base, and let the nex Democrat implement it.
Yes, leave it to Schumer to connive, he’s good at it.
Don’t do anything until the democrat majority and Obama are gone.
Schumer is such a dishonest, sleazy dirtbag.
His logic, skewed of course, because without the illegal alien vote, there is not going to be enough ‘rat base votes left to save them from being purged.
Fool me once...
So Hillary can enforce it (in his mind)? Yeah, right.
GOP - stands for Gay Obama Posse. "John" Roberts with a Boehner...need I say more?
This Reptilian leftist Rat has been in government all his life. Never ever has held a private sector job and has no clue what the real world is. Just completely emphasizes the mindset of today’s Democratic Party.
Well, Rubio vouches for Schumer and his amnesty plans, so...
Schumer and Boehner have been in the backroom talking about how to reach a deal which they both want, that won’t totally destroy the GOPe incumbents’ chances for re-election. They seem to think this will pass the smell test with those pesky conservatives.
Isn’t it obvious, when the GOPe never, ever just considers just enforcing the immigration laws we already have? Everything they do, every twist and turn in the road, is geared towards them finding a way to enable thousands of low-skilled or non-skilled people, people who will be nothing but leeches on an already shrinking productive class. Why? Why? It makes no sense, unless they’re only looking short-term, at their own deals with lobbyists for corporations (and the left looking long-term at the future voters for their own agenda).
It’s as if the GOPe already sees the handwriting on the wall, they already know they are taking their last gasps as a party, and the ones in office now are just picking off what loot they can get for themselves, and after them, the deluge.
No way, you jackanapes. NO to immigration and NO to anything you guys touch. We don’t like you, we don’t trust you, we cannot wait til Obama’s gone, and we look to see you gone too. How ‘bout YOU go away.
So, Chuckie...What stops Obama from implementing sooner? Certainly not you. Not the weak-kneed Republicans, and not the courts.
so it would work just like Obamacare ? LOL
You’re correct, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if the two cooked this up.
Our Congress is looking for a way to make illegals legal and still get reelected and a sorry excuse of a president and his appointees that won’t enforce existing immigration laws.
A very sad state of affairs.
You are SOOOOOO BAADDDD you’re good!
