The city would have seized his home even if he came up $1.98 short ...

What the whole purpose of Obamacommiecare is - They raise the rates into the stratosphere where nobody can afford it, then come the fines which no doubt they will raise into the stratosphere as well, and then comes seizure and redistribution: Communism 101.

You will never find a person that is more greedy than the government.

Thats the way these citys and town will continue their out of control spending. They will just increase your property taxes on your home until they outpace your capability to pay them off.
Then they’ll sieze your home and sell it to someone else and just continue the theft.
In America your home is not yours even when its mortgage free.

Government taxes your property, your purchases, your income, your utility bills, gasoline, capital gains, your estate. It taxes luxury items, alcohol and tobacco. It makes you pay tolls, fines, licenses, registrations....and it is never enough. Government STILL runs deficits after fleecing you dry. And if you don’t pay up, they take your property or put you in jail. And if you point all this out, you are called a terrorist.

If the city is so sorry, then sell him back his house for the the remaining taxes and reasonable fees.
Crapheads. It’s not like they can’t, they just won’t.

You can bet that it is assessed for 60 thousand or more. The assessors are hired crooks who are told to assess the house for much more than it is worth. The reason why most of these houses are worth so little is because they are in very high crime neighborhoods overrun by a certain culture. It is not safe to walk down the streets in these neighborhoods. People are mugged, shot, and you name it on a continual basis. The governments choose to pretend the houses are worth as much as they were back in the days when leave it to beaver was a reality. No one will pay more than 10,000 for these houses even it they are Victorian 3 story houses in good shape. If you live there then you are a target each and every day.
