The state Supreme Court's ethics advisory committee wants the court to prohibit California judges from membership in the Boy Scouts because the 2.7-million-member youth organization bars gays and lesbians from becoming troop leaders.

Oregon victim, Boy Scouts agree on abuse settlement involving former Scoutmaster Published January 27, 2014 Associated Press
The Boy Scouts and a former Scout from Eugene have settled a lawsuit involving Ed Dyer, the former Scoutmaster who was shot dead more than 25 years ago by a teenager he molested.
Attorney Stephen Crew brought the case on behalf of a man who said he was victimized by Dyer in the mid-1960s. He told The Register-Guard (http://is.gd/azxoKY) the case was settled through mediation, and both sides agreed not to reveal terms of the settlement. His client had sought $5.25 million.
No problem. They’ll fold on that at the slightest push.
They won’t be satisfied until they can jail parents who object to having their kids seduced and molested by perverted old homos.
So the ‘ethics’ advisory members (as if that’s not an irony) want to punish judges for not overruling a private organizations religious and moral policies.
This proposal is a clear violation of the 1st and 14th Amendments.
I wouldn’t wish this on any kid. But if it does happen, and the kids’ parents are liberals, I would sure want to throw it in their faces.
Reflecting on the moral standards of many judges removing them from Boy Scout involvement might not be a bad thing.
And of course, the ‘ethics’ advisory board (which no doubt is a by appointment position) is not packed with community organizer NAMBLA sympathizer types. /s as if I need to
“This proposal is a clear violation of the 1st and 14th Amendments.”
Yes it is but what the heck.

Interesting snippet...
“The panel noted that 22 states, including California, prohibit judges from belonging to organizations that discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation, but only California exempts “nonprofit youth organizations” from that prohibition. The state’s high court, which sets judicial ethics standards, adopted that exemption in 1996 to accommodate judges affiliated with the Boy Scouts.”
It appears CA is a bit behind the other 22 states that have already enacted such a proposal...
CA is considering banning judges from scout membership? Can I file an Amicus Curiae or something?
I mean, I agree that exposing our kids to homos is bad enough. But all this time the BSA has been allowing them to be exposed to judges?
Don't see a downside to this ban. And please, while you guys are at it, please line up all the other liberal groups who also want to be banned.
“No, Mr. Sulu, ye canna beam up yer young friend.”
Now Obama vows he will not support the Constitution (i.e. he shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed) and standard Catholic doctrine is a disqualification. . . . is that's what they meant by a "living" Constitution?
Good point.
And.....?
Watch them howl.
I honestly assumed this was done to protect the children!
