Could be good news, except that the next ‘it is his turn’ guy would probably be Cantor or Ryan. Neither would be much of an improvement.
IIRC, Bachmann was the one who caused the backdown in January 2013, when there was talk of a potential revolt then.
You are correct, it was Michele Bachmann with I believe Steve King and one other who confronted Boehner.
Boehner ended up allowing a vote on the sequester which has now been given away by Ryan.
But Boehner later stabbed Bachmann in the back by pulling her off the intelligence committee. Now Bachmann has announced she will not run again.
I’ve said it for more than a year now, Boehner has got to go, must be driven out of office asap.
We’ve seen this kind of a show before at the beginning of the session with noise from Bachmann and so on.
In the end only ten House heroes stood up to oppose Boehner’s leadership.
Republicans like Amash, Massie and Stockman had the cohones to oppose Boehner. Only if someone like them were elected Speaker would we have real change.
