A seismometer inside a borehole at Yellowstone National Park has begun reporting staggering underground activity near the southwest corner of Yellowstone Lake, possibly signaling the beginning of an eruption of the Super Volcano at the Yellowstone National Park
Yellowstone National Park is home to many beauties, with its ancient landscape, geysers, and hot springs. It is also the site of one of the worlds most destructive forces. A supervolcano.
Well if we ever knew the world was coming to an end, I think I’ll be right here on FR....the ensuing thread would be a hoot.
A lot bigger.
If this thing is about to go all FReepers need to get to San Antonio, maybe just North to the Austin area Hill Country.
Bring seeds, and every mechanical item you have.
Buckle your seatbelt Dorothy, ‘cause Kansas is going bye-bye!”
[ Look at it this way, you wont have much more time to dwell on the Broncos Super Bowl loss. ]
Here is how I see it happening....
“Hmm feels like a small earthquake...”
“Oh look at those dark black clouds coming this way very rapidly, must be a cold front..”
“Wow for some reason it is getting awfully hot as those clouds approach...”
“Why am I on fire?”
“Ahhhhhhh ahhhhh ahhhhh ahhhhhhhh.......”
“Hello, are you St. Peter?”
Say it with a Swedish accent" That was Jellystone Park, this is Yellystone Park."
Yep... project 66, and Quake lake. My dad was fishing Hebgen, and left the day before the quake. The old lady who owned the cabins on the shore was led to safety by her poodle after the flood on the shore.
It is the Pyroclastic flow that will kill the most people, not the magma....
It looks like a black rapidly moving storm cloud and is hundreds of degrees....
Swiped ‘n’ Saved.

Suggest?
If there is a major cataclysmic event, tens of millions will be choked off downwind, to the northeast, east and south...I’ve seen maps where it will then cross the Atlantic and circle the planet.
“The last Yellowstone eruption happened 640,000 years ago, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. For years, observers tracking earthquake swarms under Yellowstone have warned the caldera is overdue to erupt”.
