Part of the problem is the change in culture.

If you want a war fighting Army, you’re not looking for guys that never drink, never whore around, never speed, have no tattoos, or got into a fight. You’re not looking for the GQ guy that looks good on a DA picture and has a perfect body mass index, doesn’t use foul language, use tobacco, or worst of all, is offensive to someone. A military that is concerned about winning when fighting isn’t concerned with the ratios of certain races or sexes and what ranks they have etc... I suppose we no longer need a war fighting Army, and as many years before are more focused on the PC issues than anything related to fighting and winning. For myself, I would rather have my son serve with this guy who appears competent, than some of the clowns I served with at various times.
