The game was called Cross the Line, an ironic title because thats exactly what parents of students at a middle school in Marinette, Wisconsin think the educators did. WLUK Fox 11 News is reporting that Marinette Middle School played the game in which 5th through 8th graders were grouped together and asked to step forward if they had a yes answer to questions like, Do your parents drink? and Has anyone in your family been to jail?
Its unclear who exactly was leading the game. Parent Amanda Fifarek was not happy with the activity, telling WLUK, It was too personal. Its just things your kids dont need to be disclosing to other kids. Its hard to argue with Ms. Fifarek. 6th grader Sarah Maitlin told the station, [The school employee] asked if you ever wanted to commit suicide to step forward and then after that she asked if you ever experienced or wanted to cut, to step forward. Im going to say maybe that kind of conversation is best left to a one-on-one.

Prying questions in Marinette Middle School
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
What is the matter with schools and ‘educators’ these days?
Gestapo Training.
What is called a game these days was called a survey when mine were in school. Same thing but prettied up. Told the kids then it was ok to lie on all those questions. The more outlandish the lie, the better.
EVERY parent should teach their children what IS an appropriate question and what isn’t. I have done this with mine.. all 3. By Middle School, they are usually very adapt to answering anything they aren’t comfortable with. Elementary school is a bit trickier.. you have to detail what they SHOULDN’T answer. Yes.. this includes items like alcohol, smoking, guns, voting history, etc....
I get what the school is trying to do, but it crosses too far into looking like the school is collecting information about the parents using their own children against them. Let parents decide and teach their children what is right and wrong, not the schools.
Stalin would be proud.
“.. was called a survey when mine were in school”.
What has happened now is most schools HAVE to require parental notification and permission before any “survey” is done. Sounds to me like this school got around the parental notification/permission by playing a “game”.
If a parent has a gun.
If a parent gees to counseling.
If a parent goes to church.
If a parent is Republican.
If you live with your father.
Children are easily the best source of information on their families as they mostly want to please their teachers.
I can see the same thing happening to the teachers as I do the police now. Remember ‘Officer Friendly’ and how the police were looked upon as being ‘safe’. Well keep this sh@t up and the education establishment will be in the same boat.
Don’t talk, don’t snitch... Police,(Teachers), are NOT your Friends is what will happen. They will turn the rest of the populace against them.
Also as a side note... Police and public schoolteachers are both paid out of taxes that are quickly becoming extortion to the rest of the populace that ‘support’ them.
Ping................
One parent said her daughter was threatened with suspension if she didn’t participate. The school said they will notify the parents the next time the school decides to play the game again.
What the heck is wrong with these parents? They should go down to the school en masse and tell the school under no circumstances will their kids participate. Then they should tell their kids never to answer a question of a personal nature asked by any school employee.
Yes,.. Coffee, tea, milk, orange juice, apple juice, grapefruit juice, soda pop, & Welches grape juice.
The same data will be used to allow the sober and caring State to remove you from your parents' bad influence.
BS, it's stupid union rules that prevent the disclosure of the names of dumb ass teachers or counselors who should be allowed near children to begin with.
Looks like the “game” is wide spread: http://www.bing.com/search?q=%22cross+the+line%22+game&qs=n&form=QBLH&pq=%22cross+the+line%22+game&sc=8-15&sp=-1&sk=&cvid=9cbd0bbf42914cdea214bb89e4a4b6aa
Folks here without kids have no idea how bad it is
Private schools often no better about this
Yes, this should result in angry crowds carrying pitch-forks and torches surrounding the next school-board meeting. Unfortunately in today’s America there are probably only a few parents who even care enough to complain. The rest are probably of the mindset of “Who cares, I’m not doing anything wrong anyway.”
Is is any surprise that the teacher’s union and the Democrat party are so closely aligned here? What this is is children being trained to accept the State’s intrusion into and dominance over their family lives while being conditioned to see themselves as part of the great Socialist collective.
Fascists. Training kids to turn their parents in.
OK Little Suzzie, how many guns are in your house?
Wow, How many of these are loaded?
Wow, Where are they located?
Really, can you easily reach them if you need to?
Ok thanks. Wait here while I call the authorities.
