House Speaker John Boehner is making deals again.
After three years of taking tough stands pushed by no-compromise tea party types _ positions that ultimately led to last falls partial government shutdown _ hes returned to his roots as a conservative consensus-builder, and suddenly the House of Representatives is passing major bipartisan legislation.
He remains on fragile ground. The Republicans he leads in the House are still fractured over some of the days biggest issues, notably immigration and federal spending. But hes returning to his roots as a dealmaker, and the result is a House thats moving toward compromise, and action.
Since December, Boehner has pushed through budget deals crafted with Democratic support. Hes moved compromise legislation on farm policy. Hes led the effort to write immigration principles that include a path to legal status for those who are already in the country illegally.
Whether the 64-year-old Ohio Republican, now in his fourth year as speaker, continues to build on his newfound stature as the great compromiser might determine how his party fares in Congress and in Novembers congressional elections. Also to be determined is how history regards Boehner.
For years, he gave his caucus veto power over deals he could negotiate, said Darrell West, the director of governance studies at the Brookings Institution, a research group. The result was that he couldnt cut any deals.
In his new role as compromiser, It creates problems with his caucus, West said, but it strengthens him as speaker.

The liberal press cheering the RINOs on..........
“compromise”+caving to Democrats. When have Democrats ever compromised with Republicans?
Both their DC *and* their district lines.Tell them that the contributions *stop* the day amnesty passes and that you'll make it a point to be busy on 11/4.
Never.
They don’t need to compromise since the RATs know that the RINOs will cave at the snap of the fingers.
Yay! Boehner is bending over and waiting for the consensus stick to be rammed up his bum! Yay!
Finally a conservative consensus builder who is compromised ...er...compromising...er...oh never mind.
Yay for Boneher!
After three years of taking tough stands...
Can I barf now?
I love how they keep telling us how we are getting less popular with ourselves.
All the while the media viewership is plummeting
Scorched Earth Time.
I think we need to consider two avenues of action.
1) a Leftist-style BOYCOTT of ALL businesses giving substantial support to the Chamber of Commerce.
2) A petition to PLEDGE that if there are any shenanigans, you will cast your vote for the DEMOCRAT in November, for the SOLE PURPOSE of PUNISHING the GOPe.
In many ways a democrat *is* preferable to a GOPe RINO turncoat. The enemy behind you is worse than the enemy in front of you.
After a full five years of Obamanation, it is time to stop using the following surprise words when describing Obamas words, actions and inactions:
* Beyond Belief
* Unbelievable
* Surprising
* Incredible
* Astounding
* Shocking
* Unexpected
* Unprecedented
* Obama cant do that
* Obama is oblivious to critics
* Obama is unaware of facts
* Obama ignores the Constitution
We know that Obama always does the opposite of what he says that he is going to do.
We know that Obama always states a lie at the start of each paragraph of a speech or comment.
We know that thanks to gullible RINOs Boehner and McConnell, Obama has been very successful in Fundamentally transforming the United States of America into a Neo-Communist Nation.
To continue to be surprised at what Commie Obama does and doesnt do is to prove to ourselves that we are gullible, low information voters that havent learned a damn thing about the evils of the very predictable Communist Obamanation that has been killing our Republic for the last 5 Years.
Call Obama a lier when he lies, and hold Obama accountable for all of his words, actions and inactions.
So why have a GOP Speaker of the House and GOP control over the House? The GOP caucus made Boehner the Speaker. His first obligation is to them.
Deals are supposed to be win-win solutions for both parties. Instead, we have the GOP's acceptance of the Soviet model (read Dems) of deal-making: "What's mine is mine, what's yours is negotiable."
Can anyone imagine a similar article about Harry Reid who recently invoked the nuclear option?
“...Obama has been very successful in Fundamentally transforming the United States of America into a Neo-Communist Nation...”
But...but...Bill O’Reilly sez the Right is silly in such criticism of Obambi because the prez is a basically honest guy who wants to help America.
