Why should their be any question as to whether or not the defense should have access to a critical piece of evidence?
I have always believed, the shooter is probably guilty, (though we should wait until all the evidence is presented) but providing evidence like this to the defense should be totally routine. Makes me wonder if their is something in the video that the prosecution does not want the defense and the public to see.
It seems we have “surveillance video” of just about everything...
It's only been a few weeks and the hearing coming up is only the bond reduction hearing. What they did to Zimmerman was stonewalling -- this hardly.
I posted an article on this matter a couple days ago but it was taken down for what ever reason I don't know but in it the prosecution claimed that he did not need to turn it over according to Floruda law until AFTER discovery but the judge told prosecutors to muster it over to them.
It tends to make you think the video either supports the defense or muddies up the State’s case.
If it supports the prosecution, and shows an obvious murder, it seems like they would have no problem releasing it.
Many of our specualtions about this case may be answered.
Pasco County prosecutors say they will give the surveillance video from Wesley Chapel Cobb Theater shooting to the defense team Tuesday at a hearing. The video captured the moment when, prosecutors said, a former police officer Curtis Reeves shot Chad Oulson in a dispute over texting about three weeks ago. Generally state laws ban the release of videos depicting a killing.
Judge Sumner who presided over the hearing, said he might want to see the video before making a ruling on it. The prosecutors said, the video itself was not graphic in nature.
Chad Oulson's widow Nicole said she didn't mind the video disclosure to the defense. Reeves' defense lawyers mentioned the video needed to be released to the media in the responsible way.
So far the video was not given to any media outlets. There is a temporary injunction in release of the video until Wednesday.
HMMM. Suspicious?
Will there be previews before this video?
This is bullshit. Just cut the vids to a DVD. It's not that hard.
