Despite a crowded field of Republicans seeking to unseat U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, voters are well-served to support him for a third term.
Within a decade of his first election, Cornyn emerged as a party leader in the Senate, quickly climbing to the position of minority whip a role in which he wields tremendous influence in the 100-member body.
While several of his primary opponents articulately express what they see as Cornyns complacency in supporting an all-too-powerful federal government, none can be considered a serious challenger.
The seven candidates seeking to unseat Cornyn are hotel industry executive Curt Cleaver; aerospace consultant and retired Army officer Ken Cope; small-business owner Chris Mapp; retired Air Force officer Reid Reasor; Houston-area U.S. Rep. Steve Stockman; business owner Dwayne Stovall and immigration attorney and small-business owner Linda Vega.
Their respective platforms vary in depth and focus, but their ideological underpinnings are largely indistinguishable. Each opponent sees Cornyn as an impediment to the restoration of constitutionally limited government.
These concerns are misplaced on a candidate with high-caliber conservative credentials.

I don’t know about you, but I want to see Cornyn get his ass beat in this Primary race.
However, with the number of challengers that he has, the best outcome we can realistically hope for will be forcing a run-off.
That said, I see the two strongest challengers to Mr. Establishment RINO is a toss up between STOCKMAN and STOVALL.
Yes, Cornyn needs to go.
With multiple candidates the winner must received more than 50% of the primary vote.
That means if Cornyn does not receive more than 50% a run-off is required. . .and that is where Cornyn will loose as the run-off election will be stacked against him because Cornyn will be facing the fact that over 50% of primary voters did not vote for him the first time around. Basically, Cornyn would be facing a primary electorate that already voted against him. (Cruz won the primary this way.)
If a run-off comes then the other candidates MUST throw their support behind whoever ranks highest (other than Cornyn).
If it comes to a run-off, Cornyn will reveal his true RINO/RAT heart and attack and attack personally Stockman.
I think Stockman has the best chance in a run off. . .but that’s just me.
To be completely honest, both of these PACs are based out of AUSTIN, Texas. “Texans for a Conservative Majority” is run by a former Cornyn Chief of Staff and the second link that you posted comes from the AUSTIN-American Statesman, which comes as no surprise at all.
Neither one of these two is someone that I can place any stock in.
We all need to be very diligent in who we read or listen to when it comes to vetting our candidates. I knew that the Establishment, the RATS and their Libtard Media pals would go after STEVE STOCKMAN with everything that they can muster, simply because they really fear him. Exactly the same MO that they used in going after TED CRUZ.
You can always tell how good your candidate is not only by who Endorses them, but by who is going after them. :-)
I agree. I was just saying that there are candidates other than Steve Stockman and I intend to vet them all before backing one. On the surface, Cornyn looks and sounds a lot like a conservative - I don’t want to make that mistake again.

Or here.
Wow. After reading your comment I initially thought perhaps I had been too hasty in suggesting that conservatives should back Steve Stockman. I decided to look at your evidence to see if there were objectionable things about Stockman which should preclude conservatives from supporting him, and I was immediately struck by how shrill were the accusations against him.
It quoted Newspapers (Who are generally very anti-conservative, and therefore make terrible character references) and it quoted some Attorney who sheds no light at all on the nature of the accusations.
It looked exactly like the sort of thing a person running against him would say, and it did not look at all like something which an objective watchdog organization would say.
I decided to look up this organization calling itself "Texans for A Conservative Majority " to see who they were. I found out they were a sock puppet created by John Cornyn to attack Steve Stockman. (Whom I have no affiliation with whatsoever. Don't know him, never met him, haven't sent him any money, but am thinking about doing so now. )
So now i'm kinda P*ssed, because It appears someone tried to play me for a fool. So then I checked out the next link you sent.
WTF? Politico? Are you F***ing kidding me? The most left wing and deliberately dishonest political commentary website on the internet?
Okay, now you've got me wondering if you either have stunning level of ignorance regarding political manipulation, or you are a knowing and willing participant in it.
Are you a Cornyn supporter who is not providing full disclosure, or are you simply that gullible? If there is a third possibility, please advise, because I can't think of one.
I'm not trying to be provocative or unfriendly, and your Freeper page indicates you ought to be a decent sort of fellow, but I am now suspicious of your intentions in putting forth these links.
Clear this up for me please.
Which one is better? I want to support the person who has the best chance of beating Cornyn, especially after that stunt that Cornyn (or his people, same thing) tried to pull.
Conservatives need to send a message to not just the Republicans who go "Beltway" on us, but to those people of influence who think they will be able to deflect the will of the people by buying influence among the party establishment.
This message needs to get through to those Crony Capitalist types just as much as it needs to get through to the North Eastern Republican Establishment.
I'm thinking this is exactly right. They obviously hate Stockman to go to the trouble of trying to attack him in this manner, so therefore He may very well be the one we need to support.
You know you are over the target when you start taking flak.
I was only stating that there are two sides to every story and there are other choices besides Stockman. I used to like Cornyn, but, like many, totally disagreed with his actions regarding Cruz and cloture, so I’m looking for a viable alternative. I recognize how questionable some of Stockman’s naysayers are, but I haven’t seen him refute most of the allegations. So, I intend to carefully vet each of the candidates (other than Cornyn - I know where he stands) and make a rational, informed choice. But, for the sake of full disclosure, regardless of who wins the Republican primary, I intend to support him / her in the general election to help prevent a liberal from taking the seat.

Yeah, “on the surface”....next to Chuck U. Schumer, McCornyn does “look like a conservative”.
OTOH, next to TED CRUZ, he looks like a Obama Loving Hippie.
I really dispel a ton of the crap that is being tossed at STEVE STOCKMAN, simply because we saw this playbook before when David Dewhurst was trying to paint TED CRUZ as a Chi-Com Stooge.
These Establishment RINOs really aren’t that smart or imaginative. They keep pulling the same old crap. Just like their RAT buddies.
I think Cornyn was probably pretty decent when he was sent to Washington, and I think it is the influence of that vile place that has transformed him from someone representing the interests of the People of Texas to someone who tries to serve other masters as well.
Our system of Federalism is breaking down, and I can put my finger on numerous past mistakes that are contributing to our Governmental devolution. What has happened to Cornyn is mostly a byproduct of the consequences of these earlier mistakes.
I see the same sort of degradation occurring with the Senators/Representatives of others states as well, and I count it as the result of that baleful influence emanating from the seat of National power.
We fight multiple opponents in Washington DC. We fight the Federal Bureaucracy, We fight the Democrat Political establishment (Which overlaps heavily with the Federal Bureaucracy.) and we now also fight the Crony Republicans.
Which is the greater threat? At this point, i'm not sure it isn't the Crony Republicans, for they work from within our ranks to undermine our goals. (Amnesty) At least the other opponents stand outside our lines.
If Cornyn wins the primary, but cannot be made to see his interests do not lie with the Crony Republicans, then i'm not certain that chopping of his political head and giving the seat to a Democrat might not be more in our interests in the long run. Such a message would certainly get through to the RINO establishment.
Thanks for the date reminders!!

To answer your question, the jury is still out on your question. I really do like STOCKMAN and STOVALL. I’m still doing my research on both of these fine gentlemen.
I do like the fact that STOVALL is self-described as “Oil Field Trash”. I can’t find a damned thing wrong with that.
Yep only 29 days left. Fast approaching.
Roger that.
Cornyn will end up in a run off because he is the incumbent. Don’t know enough about the others, but a change is long overdue.
I'm not sure we can anyway.
