This brings up, how do you prove you are gay. This gay avenue could prove to be something which people claim to be gay just to be granted refugee status in America, get public benefits, etc.
Refugees go to the top of the line for subsidised or senior housing.

I agree with you that nobody deserves to get beaten or tortured for being gay. But is it really a reason to grant refugee status? People in totalitarian regimes around the world are tortured in various ways by their governments.
I said about the same thing a few weeks ago. People, to say it politely, wholeheartedly disagreed.

Similar as to how the illegals from Mexico need to stay in Mexico and agitate for political and economic change. Nothing like millions of disgruntled young men in their prime earning years to get some economic reforms going.
