There's good reason for Jim keeping Free Republic fiercely independent and self reliant. We needn't look any farther than our Canadian neighbor and sister site, FREE DOMINION , which was shut down after a libel ruling! Don't think for a minute that Free Republic isn't in the cross hairs of the current regime's over lords, so perish the thought that Free Republic will ever want to entertain the likes, needs and wants of advertisers, corporate sponsors, sugar daddies or political parties. We're not beholden to any outsiders and plan to keep it this way, with your help!
If you like and want to keep Free Republic, then it's up to you and that means All of Us to Keep Free Republic Alive, with our freely given Donations.
I know money is tight. I know the Marxist's economy sux, and I think it's getting worse, not better. DrO and I live on a fixed income, so we have to make every dollar count. Bump for the Seahawks.
Kudos to the Seahawks. They played a marvelous game, and deserve to be Super Bowl champions. (This comes from a huge fan of Peyton, ever since his days here in Knoxville at the University of Tennessee.) No attempt at excuses. On Sunday night, the better team won. Congrats!

It’s snowing and there’s ice under it. No road crews out. Sirens and state troopers flying down my unsalted road. *sigh*
No snow here yet. Just rain and that’s a relief as long as the temps stay above freezing.
Predictions are 3 to 6 and then Tuesday night into Wednesday 5 to 10. We’ve had mild winters for awhile but this year is showing us what winter is.

theres been some very contentious wrangling going on in the ranks of both FLUKE and KERRY Supporters over the exact Billing of the two residential hopefuls...but at this point the ticket remains as is..
John Heinz Kerry....who served in Veitnam’s supporters are said to be troubled by the billing order but are listening the flukes people suggest that kerry fluke..might have unforeseen connotation.. bringing back memories of kerrys first attempt to storm the Whitehouse
Well Kerrys’ career has certainly been a fluke so I believe that Flukerry is a very good idea. ;-)
