Arizona Republican Governor Jan Brewer agrees with Texas Senator Ted Cruz’s prognosis that their party will suffer if it pursues amnesty for illegal aliens this year.

by Brian Hayes | Top Right News

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer today slammed the latest push for amnesty for illegals, saying she's heard promises of increased border security after amnesty before, and she isn’t buying it: “How many times do we have to go through this? The border needs to be secured.”

Brewer also shocked her interviewer when he asked what she would do with the illegals already here: Throw them out, Brewer said, which the FoxNews host called "harsh".

”Wow,” Varney reacted. “That’s a tough stance.”

We hear so much about THE LAW is THE LAW when it is being used to squeeze the Americans who are writing the checks.

We may very well decide on humanitarian grounds, that we must allow some of the people who have come here in violation of the law and who have stayed here in violation of the law, and who have worked here in violation of the law, to have some legal status to live and work here. We DO NOT OWE THEM ANYTHING ELSE! And we especially do not owe them the right to vote.

If we grant such people the vote, we would be MAKING A GRAVE MISTAKE if only because the law must mean something of value to those we allow to vote on who will be in office. The challenge will be to prevent some future Congress from caving on this point.

Amen, brother!

Just follow the law!!!

Very disappointed with Varney - appears he has come out of the GOP-E closet and is now exposed as the enemy to the Constitution.

> She didn’t say ‘throw them out’, the host did.

You know ow the left loves o act like the guy at a bar who gets two guys to fight by saying, “hey that guy’s looking at your girlfriend” then sits back and grins the whole time they’re beating the crap out of each other. Once saw the two guys igure it out and beat the crap out of the instigator. Now that was pure enjoyment...: )

I think Brewer really ubderstands te economic cost and effects that illegal aliens create. They just about bankrpted California by sucking up all their entitlement programs plus they overpopulate and consume other resources exponentionally as they multiply faster than any other segment if the population and don’t pay back into the tax system. This isn’t a lam against Hispanics; it’s just the harsh realities createx by the rampant influx of illegal aliens. I get that they want a better life and are just trying to survive but there has to be a balance. We can’t afford to keep paying higher taxes ecause they pay none.

I used to live there in Arizona. Many of the illegals are good people and I hope we can help them. There must be some set of things the US can ask them to do to get on the path to the right side of US law. Like enroll on the tax list. Like file an income tax and pay back taxes. Get provisional okay to become a US Citizen...see what I mean? There must be some things they can do to START becoming good citizens.

Opening salvo in Brewer’s 2016 Senate campaign. If McCain doesn’t retire, he’ll face her in a primary..and he’ll lose.

“How many times do we have to go through this?”

That should have been the Republican response followed by

“We’re concentrated on getting America back to work”.

They did not come here to become citizens.
Most that are here illegally could care less if they become citizens or not.

A neighbor, good friend, broke into my house and ate all my food, used my car, stole my identity, trashed my house and ran up huge bills that were assigned to me to pay.

There must be something I could do, you and I, to get him on the path to the right side of US law. As you know, he as a citizen is subject to existing law - which will take care of him. He’ll be arrested, tried and convicted and serve a sentence - one that will brand him forever and take away many of the rights lawful citizens have like voting and owning guns.

The fact is, by his very nature of violating my trust AND THE EXISTING LAW like that automatically tells me his ISN’T a good citizen. Even with imprisonment, restitution I, maybe you too, could never trust him.

The above is a different slant, not true in my case, but it happens in this country and the punishments and consequences are real.

IOW, I don’t buy your argument, and your feelings that ‘they are good’ people does not compensate me for them having violated my country’s sovereignty, invaded our schools, squandered our resources, et al. It further does not explain the chasm of a disconnect between ‘changing the law for them’ but not for a criminal citizen here.

What "humanitarian grounds?"

We DO NOT OWE THEM ANYTHING ELSE! And we especially do not owe them the right to vote.

WE DO NOT OWE THEM ANYTHING PERIOD. Allowing them to stay and work here, the object of their crimes, is amnesty. Conferring rights and privileges upon illegal aliens has a corrosive effect on the Rule of Law, the very foundation of our Republic. It is also a slap in the face to legal immigrants who have followed the rules and obeyed the laws. There are over 4 million intending immigrants waiting overseas for their turn to enter this country. They have completed all the paperwork, got the required background checks and physicals, etc. Allowing the lawbreakers to get to the head of the line is abhorrent. When you reward something, you get more of it.

We had a "one-time" amnesty in 1986. The USG estimated 1 million would apply, but the true number turned out to be 2.7 million. The process was rife with fraud.

The focus on the right to vote distracts from the fact that we are granting these people amnesty. Citizenship and the right to vote is just the cherry on top. Our focus should be on amnesty. Once they are legalized, everyone knows they will eventually be given the right to vote. The Dems will use "second class citizenship" as a club against the Reps until they surrender once again. And no doubt, the courts will make it happen.

I appreciate your sentiments, but...time and again, I am impressed with sentiments of these "good people" being different from yours and mine. They come across as being willfully indifferent to outright hostile towards Americans.

Screw that! I will be far more inclined to send Juan and Juanita a care package when they are in their own country rather than being forced via government to support, feed and tolerate them as invaders in this country.

"Good people" who violated our laws by entering illegally, committing ID theft, stealing SSNs, working illegally, evading taxes, lying on employment forms, etc. Many of these are felonies.

The only way they get on the right side of the law is to get out. We need to help our own citizens and legal residents of this country. When you reward something, you get more of it. Paying back taxes is a cheap price of entry into this country while millions of intending immigrants who played by the rules and are awaiting their turn to enter remain in hellholes while we confer benefits on the lawbreakers. BS.
