EDITED/EXCERPT Most Boston locals concede that getting anything of substance accomplished in Boston is a Herculean task. Residents have all but embraced the principle of civic inaction with a perverse kind of local pride. In the end, "who you know" is probably more important than what you are trying to do.

STRONGARM MAYOR And there is no doubt that little is accomplished without the approval and support of the mayor, Thomas M. Menino.

So it is with the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center (ISBCC) near the intersection of Tremont Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard. Better known as the Roxbury mosque, the ISBCC has been in the works for more than 20 years. A few weeks ago it finally opened its doors for prayer — five years late, millions over budget, and still far from complete.

While the story of the building of the Roxbury mosque may not be worthy of a Hollywood epic, it does contain the stuff of a good television drama: (with Mayor Menino aiding and abetting) community intrigue, religious conflict, media controversy, foreign money, suspicions of extremist ties......and once-cocksure public officials, who (like Menino and then-Sen Kerry who once gave Islamics serial BJ's) have since retreated into a zone of silence.

ADDENDUM Let's not underestimate the actions of the Massachusetts morons----Boston Mayor Menino, then-Sen John Kerry (now Secy of State), and Gov Deval Patrick---using govt authority and tax dollars to facilitate the Boston Bombing.

(a) Early reports indicate Mayor Menino used strongarm tactics---and govt authority---to circumvent laws to aid and abet builders of the the Boston mosque the bombers attended.

(b) then-Sen Kerry used govt authority to memorialize the mosque in the US Congress.

(c) Massachusetts Gov Deval Patrick refused to divulge info WRT public assistance to the Tsarnaev's (in collusion w/ Obomba?).

But state welfare officials were forced to b/c the info is available to lawmakers. State Rep David Linsky called on the Mass Dept of Transitional Assistance to provide the info..... issuing an ultimatum, giving them 24 hours to provide the info.

The Boston Herald published the state's response: 'My office is working to fully comply with your request,' DTA interim commissioner Stacey Monahan wrote, saying they were only providing a summary 'given the great interest in this matter.'

Chechen immigrants Tsarnaev parents were eligible as legal, non-citizen residents who claimed "asylum" status and met the eligibility criteria for DTA, DTA interim commissioner Stacey Monahan said in a letter to David Linsky, Chairman of the Mass House Post Audit and Oversight Committee.

On orders of Mass Gov Patrick, multiple state agencies refused to comment on the bombing brothers' tax-paid benefits.

The House Committee on Post Audit and Oversight is reviewing hundreds of documents collected from state agencies that may have provided benefits to the suspects or their families since 2002.

Sources who have seen the 500 pages of documents sent to the House Committee on Post Audit and Oversight told News Center 5 that the entire Tsarnaev family, including (1) the two bombing suspects' parents, (2) the two suspects themselves, (3) their sisters, (4) the widow of the suspect killed, and, (5) their child -- received "every conceivable public benefit available out there."

$100K is the tip of the iceberg----the America-hating Tsarnaev's collected bigtime----rode the US gravy train using several identites. The bomber brothers' lavish style could not have been financed merely w/ welfare checks, food stamps, housing subsidies, etc etc etc.

I had the privilege of performing at Chick-Fil-A headquarters in Atlanta in the mid-'80s. They fed us and gave us t-shirts. So I've been a fan for a while. They're finally building one here, to open in March. I'm hoping to get some kind of part time gig there.

I don’t do CFA all that often due to location of the stores nearest my house, but it’s a rather easy choice whenever a meal or snack time coincides with proximity. The stores are immaculate and the staff are the friendliest. In most recent visit the young man who took our order told us we could go sit down and then brought our lunch to the table.

My favorite items are the spicy chicken sandwich and the chicken biscuit. The waffle fries are wonderful and go with anything.

The Gadsden, Alabama Chic-Fil-A decided to close when the snow came, but the workers couldn’t get home because icy roads were being shut down by the police, so they came back to the store.

Anybody who came by to seek shelter was fed for free!
