Tensions within the Democratic Party were on display in the living rooms of Massachusetts, where liberal activists watched President Barack Obama's State of the Union address with skepticism.
"I think he offered some good things," said party host Josh Tauber, a software engineer and Democratic activist who volunteered for both of Obama's campaigns. "I would get more excited if I believed those things would happen."
Liberal leaders across the nation shared Tauber's mixed response, expressing optimism about Obama's focus on economic inequality, but also frustration with a president some think hasn't fought hard enough for liberal policies on health care, taxes and Wall Street reform. Their sentiments underscore a lingering tension between moderate and liberal Democrats pressing to shape the party's priorities during Obama's final term.
The president's recent job performance ratings have been lackluster, particularly among liberals. In an AP-GfK poll this month, just 31 percent of Americans said they would rate Obama as an outstanding or above average president, down 6 percentage points since his 2012 re-election. A quarter described him as average, and 42 percent said he's below average or poor.
The president's decline stems largely from a drop within his own party — self-described liberal Democrats most notably. Among liberals, 77 percent said in November 2012 that he was outstanding or above average. That number dropped to 65 percent in January, while moderate or conservative Democrats, Republicans and independents have held generally steady.
Back in Tauber's living room, there was no applause and few smiles after Obama finished his address. "It was a typical mainstream centrist speech," Deborah Shah, who leads the group Progressive Massachusetts, said as she headed for the door. "I'm generally underwhelmed."

Last night in Chicago, black grassroots activists reacted to President Obama’s State of the Union address at Wallace’s Catfish Corner–and it wasn’t pretty.
J.R. Fleming of the Chicago Anti-Eviction Campaign said, “This state of the union was the same ol’ same ol’, a bunch of talk and rhetoric to give favor to a dying economy in America–and the reason why our economy is dying is the President’s approach is always to place blame…It’s not the 1 percent problem, it’s not the 99 percent problem, it’s an American problem, and the problem is patronage, nepotism and cronyism.
Joe Watkins, Founder of V.O.T.E. (Voices of the Ex-Offender) asked how raising the minimum wage was “going to help people who don’t have any jobs right now.” Watkins remarked that despite holding a graduate’s degree, he has been unemployed for four years.
But perhaps the biggest slam was when Mark Carter, also of V.O.T.E., suggested that black Americans would be better off if the President would cut his presidency short and “just quit.” Carter direct his comments to the President, saying, “if this is what you call helping us, then just stop helping us.”
Carter went on to criticize the President’s record during his time in Chicago as a community organizer. “He had never done anything for the community, he didn’t know the people in the community. All those things they talk about Altgeld Gardens, he wasn’t doing that stuff for real.”

Egypt’s Morsi and our Democrat’s Obama have the same Muslim Brotherhood mentality, and thus both men are opposed to the Common Law basis of American Culture.
The American-based logic system falls on the deaf ears of both men.
Both men have a “Big Picture” mentality of destroying their existing societies in order to establish their version of the Muslim Brotherhood System of governance.
Their responses during and after the 2012 Benghazi Murders were the most revealing insights into their shared Muslim Brotherhood values.
Neither Morsi or Obama can be reasoned with by their countrymen. Their Muslim Brotherhood Mentality prevents them from doing so.
Any opposition to their plans is used by them to strengthen their conviction that their plans are correct.
Egypt has figured all this is out, when will America do the same?

Yes, quite interesting that these black activists don’t want Obama’s help anymore. The problem is that the great majority of people like them will continue to vote for people like Obama (and get the same result). Sounds like the definition of insanity, to me.
From Community organizer to living off of us, the taxpayers, here are some hints as to what he and she think of blowing our money. They damn sure do not care. This is their idea of income inequality.
A real SOU would actually address the SOU. It would tell of the successes and failures just like a real end-of-the-year corporate meeting would.
