If you skipped huddling around the TV last night for the State of the Union address because youve heard it all before, plus you were just busy with life, well so did I. Putting the real world on hold to watch the fantasy declaration of utopias-on-its-way just isnt efficient.
My truck radio was tuned in though. And driving kids to and from ball games with me negotiating control of the dial allowed me to hear what Id forebodingly anticipated. Later, reading the President’s remarks on my cell phone made sitting on sticky steel bleachers (that exacerbate parents sore backs) that much more uncomfortable. It was all confirmation that we HAVE heard it all before how more government is supposedly the answer. But the extreme hubris and naïveté that emanated from that speech was something new and alarming.
Ronald Reagan said the nine most frightening words in the English language are Im from the government and Im here to help. Well, last night’s promise to grow even more unaffordable, unsustainable bureaucracy confirms we need rescuing from government like never before.
Consider all the help a bloated bankrupt federal government has given us
In an attempt to fix our health care system, government has taken away our health insurance and forced us to buy worse plans we dont want and cant afford.
To stimulate the economy, government blew a trillion dollars on a failed stimulus scheme that sunk us deeper into such a pile of debt that our great-great-great grandchildren wont be able to pay it off. And our government still wants to blow more money we dont have on investments that will incur more deficits year after year.
To lead us to energy independence, government throws billions at bankrupt boondoggle green energy gimmicks that conveniently reward campaign donors. Meanwhile, the President stymies development of conventional resources that we actually use and he kills a pipeline thats guaranteed to provide jobs and reliable energy.
To create jobs, government has created more burdensome regulations and requirements and sat back to watch as a record number of Americans simply quit the workforce and gave up trying to find jobs that government can never create.
Speaking of which, while claiming to be concerned with job creation for American workers, our government is trying to ram through amnesty, which will result in a flood of foreign workers competing with Americans for the few jobs there are.
These examples prove that growing government isn’t the answer; rather, its the problem. Its tempting to tune out rhetoric like last night’s naive promises that this time will be different, but we must not ignore it! Between the hubris of an executive branch governing by fiat, to the arrogance of believing it can spy on citizens communications and unleash the IRS to harass people who happen to disagree with the President, its now more important than ever for us to press in and pay attention.
Why? Because were obviously on a dangerous path, but We the People don’t have to be We the Sheeple and just get shepherded towards a fundamental transformation thats against Americas will. Theres another way! This nation can shine again with the elbow grease we as individuals can provide! But we mustnt let a statist-leaning government dull our dedicated efforts. So pay attention. Get involved. Understand the way words are manipulated by politicians who practice to deceive, so that we can DO something about it. For instance, proving hes immune to irony, the President used the phrase fairness and equality under the law at the end of last nights address. This is the same President who has been arbitrarily amending his signature legislation, Obamacare, practically every other day to give breaks to his cronies and leave the rest of us without connections out in the cold. I guess some of us are less fair and equal under Obamas laws.
The last thing we need right now is more help from big government. In this mid-term year, we need to send new leadership to D.C. to get government back on our side and off our aching backs.
Thankfully, November is just around the corner.
- Sarah Palin
Her priorities are correct. I was busy sorting my sock drawer, or I’d been glued to the TV...
I couldn’t listen because I had to scrub the toilet......10 times!
He, he, he.
“the presidents hubris and naivete is alarming.
Oh, for the love of Mike. Does no one speak simple English any more?
A and B ***ARE*** something.
Unless you is a slum rat.
Back in the Clinton days, and the first year of Obama, I used to let other Freepers do the watching and reporting. And I would consult the transcripts. But at this point I can’t stand even reading a transcript, because I pretty much know what kind of meaningless lies and gobbledygook they will involve.
And I note that there are scarcely any Freepers left who are willing to assume the burden of listening to the enemy in order to report to the rest of us what was said. Bad enough listening to Jimmy Carter or Bill Clinton, but Obama is a thousand times worse.
You can sum up just about all his speeches thus: “I am the Messiah, and I’m trying, uh, extremely hard fix the mess I found when I came into office, but it’s just going to take a little longer because of the political gridlock caused by those evil Republicans, who are unwilling to compromise.”
Although B. Hussein Obama has an aversion to taking credit for his abundant failures, lies, and criminal acts, B. Hussein did a credible job of describing just what his failures were in last nights State of the Obamanation Failed Union Speech.
B. Hussein waxed eloquent on his description of how the Keynesian Prime the Pump stimulus theory of economics has failed without ever mentioning Keynes, or economic stimulus.
It was a masterful slight of hand speech, worthy of B. Husseins reputation as a consummate lying, con-artist, (pardon the redundancy).
Now that Commie Obama has been forced to admit that Communism (Mandatory Universal Federal Medical Insurance Tax, aka Obamacare), Economic Stimulus, Fed-controlled low interest rates, and Constitutional violations have made the last 5 years a living Hell for The Middle Class in America, the question I have is as follows:
Who in the RINO Wing of the Republican Party has learned NOT to repeat what B. Hussein has proven for 5 years to be failed Federal Government policy?
What say all of you?
If 0bvmmer wanted to wreck the economy “on purpose” what would he be doing differently?
I love Sarah to pieces. I was rooting for her to be on the National Ticket before McLame picked her in ‘08. But, I need to say, Sarah, what is also alarming is that you continue giving your blessings and endorsements to that old prune-faced s.o.b. who was your running mate in ‘08. You don’t owe him anymore. You paid your debt to him in ‘08 by keeping him from getting annihilated, which he would have had you not been on the ticket. If you sing his praises or endorse him publicly one more time, I’m going to tune you out permanently. My love affair with you will be OVER!!! People on FR probably won’t say what I’m saying, but if it was anyone else, they’d be tearing them to pieces. It’s only because you’re loved Sarah; you are very loved.
Whats really alarming is if Palin really believes hussein is naive and not intentionally evil.
I try to avoid hearing his voice as much as possible. At the age of 65, I am sick of this president telling me what I can do and can’t do. This guy hasn’t a clue about life. He’s been handed everything on a silver platter, practically.
I do pray that Sarah runs in 2016. What more of a contrast to Obama could one get? Darkness (Obama) and light (Palin)!
Palin’s got Obama’s number - - she’s not being fooled by any of ‘em ... Good for her.
