Tea Party Express enthusiastically announced Tuesday that Senator Mike Lee of Utah will be offering the 4th Annual Tea Party response to the President Obamas upcoming State of the Union address, immediately following the Republican response.
Mike Lee, who was elected to the Senate during the Tea Party wave of success in 2010, has proven to be an effective leader within the Senate, offering tangible solutions in the face of Obamas empty rhetoric. As we enter into another significant election year, we expect Senator Lees response will offer a message relevant to the current challenges we face under this Administration and how we can meet those challenges together.
This past fall in a speech to the Heritage Foundation, Senator Lee discussed key philosophies he believes will bring about reform and advance the conservative agenda. He encouraged a unifying Great Debate among the grassroots and establishment, conservatives and moderates, libertarians and traditionalists, interventionists and non-interventionists, economic conservatives and social conservatives. All are part of our movement, he said. And all are vital to our success so all should be welcome in this debate.
We understand that, as it is lived in America, freedom doesnt mean youre on your own, Senator Lee said. Freedom means were all in this together.
In contrast, President Obama said in his 2013 State of the Union address, the Constitution makes us not rivals for power but partners for progress. However, he quickly abandoned this belief and began attacking Republicans for the duration, which only causes further division and offers no real solutions.
And therein lays the difference and the reason behind our excitement of Senator Lees upcoming response. Obama in years past has filled his State of the Union address with blame, empty promises, and ineffective policy. Senator Lee will continue to point out how to advance a larger, positive vision of America, and to help begin to craft a practical plan to get us there, as he mentioned in October of 2013.
Senator Lee states our optimism isnt simply a message; its a conservative principle claiming, American conservatism, at its core, is about gratitude; and cooperation; and trust; and above all, hope. It is with these unifying principles that we will challenge the Presidents agenda, beginning with Senator Lee and his upcoming Tea Party response.
Past Tea Party responses have included Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain and this past year, Senator Rand Paul. We anticipate an excellent response from Senator Lee and are looking forward to a Great Debate that helps unify our country, instead of dividing it.

That I intend to watch.
It’s rare that a speech does anything by itself. What I am very (favorably) surprised at is that there is such a thing as a Tea Party response.
About what time of day CST should this happen?
I think it is a fantastic idea to have a Tea Party response.
Mike is just the man to do it.
The Tea Party Express has been doing it since 2011
Tea Party Express hosted the first ever Tea Party State of the Union response in 2011 with Congresswoman Michele Bachmann. Herman Cain and Senator Rand Paul have also delivered our response in years past.
It should be right after Obama stops lying on every network with his State of The Coup (Corpse??), so no “set” time.
Hope it is great....but......will the public hear it?
If it’s put on youtube I would email the link to everyone I know.
If the speech lambasts Republican representatives and senators ... I'll sit up and listen.
We here in FR are either full of shit and we're fooling ourselves there are a whole bunch of us out here/there ... or there really IS a massive flyover that THE POLITICIANS IGNORE.
So if some commentator starts telling me I have to find common ground, or work harder or whatever ... he can go pound sand
I want HIM to punch the next democrat that stands in the well and lambasts Republicans for not offering ammendments, or refusing to agree with the President ... or WHATEVER bogus talking point they want to push .... right in the mouth ... draw blood ... get arrested.
YOU guys ... Congresscritters .... show some guts and call for impeachment.
Re post 6: I weren’t aware they were doing it. It seems more publicized this year, with Sen. Lee giving the response. at least on FOX. Thanks for the info.
BTTT
Bttt
I’ll watch it online, no way am I going to sit thru the Obamanation just to watch the response when it’s over.
Will definitely be watching. Can’t stand to watch the RINO response and so thankful TPE is giving Sen Lee the spotlight to repsond to 0’s lies.
Thanks for posting.
.........should be around 8:40 to 9:00 pm Eastern but the way I am understanding this is that the Tea Party comes after the pubbies who I am no more interested in hearing than the socialist/Marxists! So, I am guessing the Tea Party response will be around 9pm Eastern, but don’t take my word for it. Ask somebody that knows something.
Imnvho, count on it !

More from TPX:
SNEAK PEAK: Excerpt from Senator Lee's Tea Party responseAmong the many topics that Senator Mike Lee will be addressing tonight is President Obama's use of inequality to divide Americans rather than to actually solve the problem. He is expected to say:
"Today, Americans know in their hearts that something is wrong. Much of what is wrong relates to the sense that the 'American Dream' is falling out of reach for far too many of us. We are facing an inequality crisis- one to which the President has paid lip-service, but seems uninterested in truly confronting or correcting."
"Throughout the last five years, President Obama has promised an economy for the middle class; but all he's delivered is an economy for the middle-men."
