It’s money and the belief that the public doesn’t see the trickery.
In Paul Ryan’s case he is very ambitious and wants to be in the top ring of power. He is thinking that he will not satisfy everyone so he is making decisions on who he can sacrifice and who he must pay respects to. He believes the base can be sacrificed partially, especially the gun toting bible thumping Duck Dynasty types.
He needs to be primaried or alternatively Boehner, Cantor and McCarthy need to be primaried and Ryan needs to be told to get packing.
Ryan will likely be driven out of Congress and he will land at some lobbying firm or PAC. He will hold out hope for an executive appointment if some moderate GOP slides somehow into the White House.
If Wisconsin Governor Walker runs for President, Ryan will find a way to ride his coattails or attempt to be his replacement.
I see Ryan as a fool. He thinks of himself too highly. He is not wise at all. But wisdom is not what he’s after. He’s after the fantasy reflection he sees of himself.
I actually saw this in him back in late 2011 and tried to convince some Freepers here that he was fake. But they were enamored with his pretty face.
And then for me the confirmation of my concerns came when the liberal MSM cozied up to him and elevated him to some sort of GOP star. Whenever we see ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, Washington Post, NY Times etc. get behind a GOP candidate, you know that’s what liberal want to see as their opponent.
Whatever, Ryan is a very cautious politician. I saw him speak in 2011 at a Heritage luncheon. He was careful not to show too much of himself. As Romneys #2 he had a chance to show Biden for the doofus he is, but he declined to do that. I couldnt figure out why, since Biden has no fans.
