Pathetic that one can trek for 2 years around the globe with no problems, yet go missing on a walk in the US.
This country is circling the toilet.
To: Red in Blue PA
It would be my guess she decided to keep walking.

Doubtful. Why would she have come home after 2 years then?

Absent any other information, that is my guess, too.
Wanders for two years, you know, leaving hubby alone for two years while she “experiences the world” or “finds herself”. . that sort of thing. Comes home and then decides to take a walk-about (perhaps with love interest met along the way).
Who knows.

Something wrong here. Did she travel with her husband? IF not, she may be tired of him and ready to move on. Lots of people disappear each year. She probably had somebody to see and a place to go.
BTW, I doubt her husband’s story. How many times do you tell somebody to take their time? It’s not a normal dialog for the event.

*shrug*
It passes.
Mostly.

She might have thought she was ready, needed new shoes, was tired, there are many reasons.
Then she realizes she was happier out on the road. Probably has some mental issues.

Something is off, perhaps the husband wasn’t happy she came back?

Its a very understanding (or apathetic) husband that doesn’t care if his wife is gone for 2 years.

Where in the article does it say she was with him. I read both the link and the KSAT article.

Both articles are a little confusing. Leanne and her husband live in Colorado. After returning from a two-year trek, she was visiting a relative in Garden Ridge, TEXAS, went out for an hour-long without her cell phone and disappeared.
After searching a week and no activity on her credit cards, police gave up the search. Husband is not a suspect because he’s in Colorado.
Several open ends: May have met with a bad end. May be missing and waiting for the other shoe to drop. Maybe avoiding her husband.

Early in the KSAT article: “They had spent 22 months on an around-the-world trip and had just returned to the United States.”
