Actually, national suicide is exactly what Bloomberg and his ilk have been enabling for decades with their support of abortion. Another 50+ million people (the number aborted) would have done a lot to fill the need for labor and stimulate the economy. But he preferred to kill them.

Need for labor? We have 20 million Americans underemployed or unemployed. We have a shortage of jobs, not labor. And who uses abortion the most? Blacks and Hispanics. And which groups have the highest unemployment rates? Blacks and Hispanics. And which groups use the welfare system the most? Blacks and Hispanics. And which groups have the highest birth rates? Blacks and Hispanics.

I don't support abortion, but it would be a mistake to say that these additional 50 million people would be an unalloyed good for the economy or jobs.
