Chamber of Commerce: Conservatives the 'Problem' in Amnesty Battle
Breitbart ^ | 26 Jan 2014 | Tony Lee

Posted on 01/26/2014 8:31:20 PM PST by Mount Athos

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce said once again that conservatives were the "problem" when it came to passing immigration reform legislation with amnesty provisions.

“The left has never been the problem on this,” Randel Johnson, the chamber’s senior vice president, said on Friday during an immigration summit in Washington. “The right is the problem.”

As Breitbart News reported, that is why the Chamber is reportedly going to spend $50 million against the Tea Party, largely because the Tea Party opposes amnesty and comprehensive immigration reform. According to Bloomberg News, the Chamber of Commerce wants to "rewrite" the immigration laws because current laws limit "access to workers."

The Congressional Budget Office has determined that the Senate's immigration bill that the Chamber and its big-business allies covet would lower the wages of American workers, and Chamber of Commerce CEO Tom Donohue implied earlier this month that his group would try to make the Tea Party "feel some heat" in trying to push for some form of amnesty for the country's illegal immigrants. In addition, the group reportedly will again try to use evangelical groups to pressure conservatives on immigration issues. But as Breitbart News' Matthew Boyle has doggedly reported, many of the evangelical groups have been financed by those on the institutional left like George Soros.

President Barack Obama and House Republicans will try to push for immigration reform legislation after Obama's State of the Union Speech next week. Representatives from the Chamber of Commerce met with former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Michigan Republican Gov. Rick Snyder, and former Bush administration Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez, who founded a super PAC that backs candidates who support amnesty, at an immigration summit last Friday ahead of Obama's address.

You’re a problem, Randy. You. Personally.

The first rule of the Tea Party is that there is no Tea Party.

Everyone should boycott every business that belongs to that organization!

The Chamber of Commerce isn’t any better—give me, give me. Guess what...there isn’t much more left to give or to take from this country. Business won’t matter two freakin’ cents if the tax paying citizens have are taxed to death to cover the illegals granted citizenship and the jobs that will go to the new citizens.

I forget who on FR said it but they posted about picking over the carcass of this country and that was darn accurate. Get our house in order here, respect the law abiding, tax paying CITIZENS here, then they can start to think about immigration.

We can’t afford to be bleeding hearts...we can’t AFFORD IT.

I agree with you.

Much of our current problems I believe can be traced right back to the Ivy league schools and the creation and introduction of the MBA degree. Masters in Business Administration is what it stands for, (I think). The main ideas pushed in the MBA degree were streamlining for efficiency and the SHORT TERM bottom line.

And that sort of thinking works when there is a lot of fat in the the system. Fat is easier to cut and to show an immediate profit. Well guess what... It worked; now though to make short term profits even bigger you need to cut muscle. Muscle in this case is the hardest and most productive of your workers.

If someone gets sick or takes a vacation a business has to add on overtime or hire part-time or temporary workers to cover that loss in productivity.

What these MBA trained ‘managers’ have now latched onto as their solution to the lack of fat in their corporations and businesses is the idea of hiring ‘low cost’ ie. Low Paying workers. and the way to get them is to bring them in from out of the country in droves.

What they still don’t realize is that SOMEONE has to buy their products they are selling! And if the common American can’t buy the products made here in America then no matter how much they cut and how many low cost workers they bring in, their businesses are going to go bankrupt and that is that.

Of course the top executives won’t and don’t care; they’ve already ‘got theirs’ and yours and mine too. But the destruction and poisoned ground they have left on America will linger on for many generations to come.

And all because of a flawed line of reasoning from a left leaning ‘elite’ Ivy School system. Who said an idea couldn’t change the whole world given enough time and money behind it?

"Immigration Reform"....

"Establishment Republicans" get cheap labor and Democrats get cheap votes!

Sheeple screwed...., again? (Rhetorical question, of course...)

But your solution would require the Executive Branch to stop issuing EOs and enforce the law. Nice fantasy, but too many potential voters are at stake for either party to do what the Constitution actually requires.

Maybe we need to stop worrying so much about the taxes and regulation the COC crowd get socked with

When it was about keeping taxes for higher earners from rising, they went all "tea party" and got the conservatives to support them. Once they got that, they forgot all about us. Now, those jobs they could afford to create aren't being created, until they can get cheap compliant invader labor.

I wonder if the Chamber of Commerce even cares all that much about regulations. They do stop competition against those established businesses from arising.

Besides that, you've got Chamber of Commerce cheerleaders co-opting the dissent and claiming the "tea party" was formed primarily to keep taxes low. Conservative outrage came into play with people who were and still are disgusted with the invasion of the US. It's time that we correct these infiltractors every time they strive to co-opt our constitutional conservative goals.

In a perfect Chamber of Commerce world, every eating place would be a fast food franchise. Walmart the only store in town. No small businesses. Everything staffed with illegal third worlders. That would be the perfect Chamber of Commerce America, their vision.

Mount Athos- I did try. USA Today articles are banned. Per my comment, can’t say I disagree with that, really.

Zenjitsuman- Good thinkin’, Dobe! (Dobie Gillis reference) I think I’ll do that, too. (I’m lucky enough to have Cruz & to some extent, Cornyn, & Lamar Smith)
I don’t think anyone’s mind has changed since the last time they tried to pull this. Well, except that we have a “few” more illegals.
That, too. I’m more inclined toward Cloward Piven, but then I’ve been on an Anti Commies tear since at least 2009. You may be more right than me.

ObamahatesPACoal- I wrote them off a while back. Sometimes I read the comments, though.
