As House Republicans prepare to wrestle with their differences on immigration at an annual retreat next week, one GOP lawmaker from the Central Valley is signaling there may be movement on an issue that has split the party. At the same time, a high-profile group of bipartisan leaders met in Silicon Valley Thursday to unveil a report showing immigrants are key to a robust U.S. economy.
The report by the Bipartisan Policy Center was released by former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and former Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff, both Republicans, and former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Henry Cisneros, a Democrat. They argued that Americas population is aging and needs immigrants to keep the labor force growing. A healthy economy, in turn, will enable the United States to maintain its global political and military preeminence.
Immigrants not only add to the sheer numbers so they continue the growth process, said Cisneros, but they tend to be younger therefore they form families, therefore they have children, so they create the generation to come.

I hate these effin bastards. Fighting for the glory of having sold U.S. citizenship to third world invaders.
Sure they are, 30% of the prison population helps keep guards employed I guess.
All that welfare, free schools and free ER's also help keep government minions employed.
What a bunch of fools.
We are about to witness the end of the 2 party system
They do the best they can to keep our citizens out of the E.R. At the same time they do their best to increase the impact of illegal immigrants on those same E.R.s.
Why we’ll just make them citizens.
And then these new citizens will still need to be subsidized in the E.R.s.
All the negative impacts of illegal immigrants will remain. They’ll just be dirt poor citizens then, and getting the same damned government programs, and more because now they’ll be legal and qualified for more.
That was gone ages ago. The semblance was kept propped up as a divide-and-conquer tactic by the left.
The Republican Party has managed it’s way into oblivion.
If they do this immigration deal in an election year, I suggest every Republican stay home.
Let’s see how their voting block gels around an illegal immigrant population base.
I don’t give a FK about immigrants.
Bring em.
Bring em all.
But, they must be subject to the same laws everyone else is held to.
I wouldn’t care about the 30 million people here if they were under the same laws.
bump
They should be under the same laws. Reading about courts letting illegals off the hook from “cultural misunderstandings” tells me we need to cut off the benefits of breaking and entering this country
Please remember that we now spend at least half a trillion dollars a year on welfare programs for citizens. (And I’ll bet a lot more than that is spent on hidden programs)
Do you really want to bump that up by 30-40 million in one fell swoop, and then bump it up by 2 million more each year as the immigration flood doors are opened?
I suggest a thirty year moratorium is in order.
Cisneros, Chertoff and Rice - criminal, thief and fool.
“The report by the Bipartisan Policy Center was released by former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and former Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff, both Republicans, and former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Henry Cisneros, a Democrat.”
One Worlders.
Take your “Bipartisan Policy Center” and stick it. You are hyper-partisan: you care nothing about the American citizen but everything about importing mass poverty.
Have you noticed all the radical Black leftists that have taken over in the Obama media like Tyche or whateverthat made up name this is!
They have to know immigration is hated by the base.
Are they really that far removed from our daily lives?
Screw that; I'll vote for someone that I think can do a good job — I voted Gary Johnson instead of Romney last time (my state's former governor; he did a good job).
Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, again.
No Senate, maybe lose the House if they make this wizard move....
And here's the problem; there are essentially three or four classes of people today:
This McCarthy creep single handily destroyed the California Gop .This evil creep worked out a special deal with the Dems to ram thru the New State Congressional and state house districts which literally wiped out numerous state and federal Gop seats and any chances of blocking any radical left wing state laws !
This is a vile evil amoral monster who destroyed his own party to save his own district !
This is the type of money grubbing snake that fits right in with Bonehead and Cantor and Issa and Gowdy and Ryan and Goodlatte !
These dangerous creatures need to be removed .
