The Arizona Republican Party formally censured Sen. John McCain on Saturday, citing a voting record they say is insufficiently conservative.
The resolution to censure McCain was approved by a voice-vote during a meeting of state committee members in Tempe, state party spokesman Tim Sifert said. It needed signatures from at least 20 percent of state committee members to reach the floor for debate.
Sifert said no further action was expected.
McCain spokesman Brian Rogers declined to comment on the censure.

I sincerely want to see this happen.

I love the way AP (American Pravda) puts 'liberal' in quotes. It is a standard method of editorial mockery, similar to 'air quotes'.
What an outstanding example of 'journalism'.

I think so too, about Schweikert. Salmon is a little gun-shy because he totally blew it last time he ran for state-wide office.

Jeff McFlake has his head too far up McCain’s rear to notice ANYTHING...except what John had for the previous meal.

McFlake has to learn something. McQueeg gets a lot of forbearance because of his “war hero” status. That benefit does not translate to McFlake, so he better straighten up.

Federal officeholders senators and congressmen cannot be recalled. This has been litigated both in federal court (Idaho, 1967) and state court (New Jersey, 2013). You have to beat him in an election to remove him or wait for him to die. And McCaniac has already said he isn't running again due to his age IIRC so this vote doesn't carry hardly any weight. He just keeps doing what he wants with impunity no matter what his constituents say. McCain and the blue blood corrupt Washington Republicans deserve each other. All corrupt!

Thank you for posting this. We just made it home from Phoenix. I didn't realize you were once part of AZGOP. From what I understand this makes McCain ineligible for funding and support from the state and local Republican Committees. Of course individuals will still do what they want.
We passed several other resolutions and voted down one called “Resolution to Save the United States Constitution” that opposed an Article V convention or Constitutional Convention of any type. Not sure how you save the Constitution by ignoring part of it.
The other resolutions passed as a package were pretty standard fare except for one supporting going to a Caucus system to nominate candidates for general elections. Fortunately this is just a recommendation and the state legislature would have to pass something to change to this. Smaller counties would be grossly outnumbered and we would probably never see any candidates for state or federal office that were not from Maricopa County.

It also puts local people on record on supporting McCain. They are easier to throw out of office and closer to being up for election.
To: ObamahatesPACoal
Locals love him. War Hero. They spit on me when I circulated petitions to recall him. F*** them.
