The Stryker was never meant to do what the mil has been doing with it. They loaded it down with extra armor and all kinds of extraneous passive defenses, then put it in as a front-line urban combat vehicle rather than the light-infantry open country combat it was intended for. It’s also been in-service for a couple of decades, despite having been originally brought in as a stop-gap while they brought the new generation of tracked combat vehicles into production. Blame that one on Shinseki along with those stupid berets.
Reminds me of the Sergeant York Tank, or the development of the Bradley.
