The Obama administrations testy relationship with the press is nothing new for Washington, but its now extended to Colorado and has touched off a firestorm after Interior Department officials booted local reporters from a public meeting earlier this week.
Journalists with Colorado's Craig Daily Press and at least two other media outlets were barred from a Tuesday question-and-answer session with Interior Secretary Sally Jewell, despite the fact that members of the public were allowed to attend.
What happened would be in complete alignment with the administrations policies. We were promised the most transparent administration ever and instead weve gotten the opposite, said Moffat County, Colo., Commissioner John Kinkaid, who attended the meeting along with his two fellow commissioners, Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper and other officials.
What Sally Jewell did it makes total sense. Thats how this administration runs, Mr. Kinkaid added.
The Interior Department did not immediately respond to requests for comment, and its unclear why administration officials felt justified in barring reporters from a public gathering.
The meeting came on the heels of Ms. Jewells tour of a ranch in Moffat County. The tour was meant to allow Ms. Jewell the chance to witness innovative efforts to conserve and enhance habitat for sage grouse, according to the Interior Department.

Horse feathers, this is wrong.
I agree with the overall sentiment. However, frankly, I don’t consider today’s modern ‘journalists’ scribes of ANY fashion. There is virtually nothing scribe-like in almost any journalist’s repertoire of value-adds. I consider them just lies from another perspective.
That’s a very good question ... I refuse to answer on the grounds that it may tend to incriminate me.
What if they held a meeting and no one showed up .... or took any active part in it ?

Looks like the O_btards minions did not like this.
I see what you did there...
Ping.
Declare protected habitat and stop any development, from oil and gas to building your deck on your cabin.
Looks like the Gubmint is gonna give the people the bird (again).

Thanks...I just checked the article link and it still comes up.
That’s what the feds and enviro-nazis are trying to do, it’s criminal.
Dictators want NO dissent or even the hint of its possibility!!!!
Yes, I went to you link and did find it now.
Wonder if it has been modified from a previous version?
I will look at both of them.
Sorry.
If it were I:
“Get your hands off of me!”
“You have no such authority to bar me, and I certainly have the right to be here!”
“If you attempt to touch me again, I WILL defend myself against your assault!”
Exactly.
