Dear white people: It's not OK to throw a black-themed party where white students wear racist costumes and drink from cups that look like watermelons, especially to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Justin Simien, the writer and director behind the comedy "Dear White People," doesn't have to look far to illustrate how his movie parallels real life.

He died a soldier: World War II vet killed in beating tried to fend off attackers, cops say Delbert (Shorty) Belton, 88, tried to fight back when two teens attacked him in a Spokane, Washington, parking lot, police said. One suspect, Kenan Adams-Kinard, 16, was waiting Tuesday to be arraigned on first-degree murder charges. His alleged accomplice, 16-year-old Demetrius Glenn, is being held in lieu of $2 million bond.

Lighten up Francis
Dear Black “folks”:
It is not okay for you to act like I owe you something. I don’t owe you shit.
White Guy aka “Crazy Ass Cracker”
I invite any and all offended black people to be rednecks.
Dear non-Irish-American people: It's not OK to throw an Irish-themed party where non-Irish-American students wear racist costumes and drink green beer from cups festooned with shamrocks, especially to commemorate St. Patrick's Day.So, dear "black" people: get over yourself and shut up.
The freedom to throw tasteless parties is enshrined in the Constitution.
So, dear offended black people, stuff it. Feel free to throw a redneck party. I might even come if the barbecue is good enough.
Because to commit fewer would be... well... too WHITE of them!
Justin "Simien"?
Seriously?
This is a f-ng joke, right?
Was 'Monkay' already taken?
Man, I was puzzling about something similar this morning.
Seems to me these black folks are trying to mirror what they see as “white pride” (which is actually doing things more like God wanted them done in the first place) and doing it as “black pride.” Which of course is a step into the ghetto dominated, moral void!
If we have to have pride, maybe we should have “people pride.” Nobody is left out. After all God did make people in His image... no matter what color they are... so He has rights to boast on them, wouldn’t you think... the problem is that way too often we don’t act in accordance! (We otherwise call it sin.)
Sometimes it seems like their rhetoric is designed to make the white man sorry he ever enslaved them, and their actions designed to make him sorry he ever freed them.
Well that’s a perfect rhyme with the devil’s game.
Come to realize it, it IS the devil’s game. The bible told us so.
I think we take such things way too seriously sometimes. If Whitey laughed at such things, Blackey might get mad at first, but then would collect his dignity and the game would soon end.
In other words I think the Crackers have a right to be Crazy Ass... not murder crazy or malice crazy, but hey, get a big ole redneck yeehaw on and don’t care about color! (And do tell the “Niggas” they are free to join whenever they wish, we will not discriminate unlike them.)
Dear Black People,
If I can put up with it on St Paddy’s Day you can put up with it on MLK Day. :-)
Why yes... everyone’s Irish, then everyone’s black, then everyone’s redneck. And we get to enjoy the best of each one’s world. Win-win all around.
It’s actually worse than those numbers would make it appear.
The percentage of the black population committing those 50% of the murders is actually much smaller than 12%. They’re predominantly committed by young men. Eliminating women takes it down to about 6%. Eliminating the male children (real children, not gangbanger teens) and the elderly men brings the percentage of the population much closer to 4% or less.
Dear Black People: Beating people up is not okay, robbing liquor stores is not okay...
I wonder if the black folks are feeling put down by seeing the white folks party a la black and actually having FUN. You know, it’s possible to do it without a Frito Lay factory on your shoulder, don’tcha?
