Former 'American Idol' star Clay Aiken is running for Congress in North Carolina, in-state Democrats with knowledge of his plans tell The Hill.
Aiken, a former runner-up on the top-rated show and Raleigh native, plans to run against Rep. Renee Ellmers (R-N.C.) in a Republican-leaning district. WRAL first reported that the singer was assembling a campaign team and prepping a launch for next month.

Interesting....."I'm gay and I can sing, vote for me", will probably be the whole campaign.....that and your a homophobe if you don't vote for me.
I guess he will have to play the dick card instead of the race card.

Low information voters love celebrities. Geesh. I suppose this loser (American Idiot 2nd Place) is an expert on abortion and global warming. I had a battalion commander once who loved to say, “Second place is like kissing your sister.” LOL!

Just one more example of how little it takes to be elected to office.
You don't need knowledge, intelligence, experience, credentials, or skill.
All you need is for people to like you and/or your positions. That's it. We've seen this over and over again.
On both sides of the aisle.

I am sure his ‘sexual orientation’ will make him a darling of the Media. I am truly fed up with the ‘cult of personality’ that inflicted the Obamas on this nation. Wouldn't it be wonderful if everyone running for office had to prove COMPETANCY?

His 15 minutes of fame was (to me) 14 minutes, 58 seconds to long. Clay what issues will be on your platform gay marriage or will it be taxes? Clay being in Congress is not done on tv with people calling an 800 number (thank god, if you could the uninformed voters, usually called Dems, would vote 2 or more times) and being a ‘star’ is not a requirement, too. Knowing what the people want is the requirement and I doubt they want you.

We'll be lucky if it's just that. I think he'll try to let people in the back door.
