“This is a last resort sort of violence”
The “last resort” is violence as empowered by the 2A.
A COS end result could be the loss of 2A as we know it and a host of other new amendments glorifying a corrupt society.
The romantic notion that somehow all participants would have have a Mr. Smith Goes to Washington moment of constitutional integrity is a pipe dream.
On the other hand if the point of having a COS is to push the country into such division that violence ensues, then, that’s what we’ll have. We are headed there at some point anyway.
If we are headed for violence anyway, there cannot, as I said in #11, be any harm done from a state amendment convention.
So! Are you in or not?!?
I’m in.
We hang together or we hang separately.
Lets do this thang! HOOYA!
It could, certainly.
But before it gets to that point, a repeal of 2A first has to pass a majority of the convention to get proposed as an amendment, and then it has to pass the legislatures of 38 states to become an amendment to the Constitution.
Are you ready to have a serious discussion on the likelihood of this happening, given that Obama couldn't even get gun control legislation passed in the Senate after Sandy Hook?
It seems to me that people are tossing out bogeymen arguments that on their own merits don't pass the reasonableness test. People are only here to scare.

Loss of 2A as a concern. I agree.
However, the right arm of the 2A is missing, the left arm is paralyzed, it can’t see out of the left eye and is blind in the right eye. It has a palsy that makes aiming suboptimal. The direction of the libs is to take away our rights by microstamping, fees, limits of all kinds.
If the courts determine that “shall not be infringed” means all of these infringements are allowed, I think the people need to speak, as they will not long have the ability.
