Republicans on Friday are expected to remove all obstacles to holding their 2016 presidential nominating convention to the end of June, two months earlier than their 2012 convention in Tampa, The Washington Times has learned.
The partys rules change moves the convention to an earlier date which will allow our candidate to begin the general campaign earlier, said Republican National Committee member Bruce Ash, who is chairman of the RNCs Standing Rules Committee.
I will be voting to create a level playing field for all candidates and to help vet and promote the best candidate to allow the GOP to re take the White House in 2016, Mr. Ash told The Times.

Why spend all that money on a useless convention?
Exactly. Much ado about nothing.
Which RINO has a prior commitment in August that they cant be there to be the GOP nominee ???
What’s Willard doing ???
What’s Christie doing ???
Fewer “debates?”
So the last few cycles of trying to get a later spot to help with continued momentum to November is just no more? Doesn’t seem like a great idea. IMHO

Boy did our FRiends eat up his speech which was a tragic display of crap. Sometimes you have to wonder....
Haven’t seen much of that “momentum” stuff recently.
Now if Ted Cruz was the nominee — the joint will be rocking!
Whatever it takes to reduce the number of demoflak gotcha debates.
Republican candidates should not debate each other, win on your own merits, keep the message positive. All debates do is weaken the nominee.
Yes lets get ready for the Jeb Bush Express/sarc!
The only way to make the convention have any meaning whatsoever is to release delegates and allow them to vote for candidates regardless of the results of primaries. The idea that a presidential candidate can be written in stone after just a handful of state primaries is utterly ludicrous.
They should have to duke it out to the very end, which will ultimately produce a better contender for the general election in November.
Yeah...a LOT fewer debates.
BTW, thanks for the props to my Liberal Girl video. Just for that, I'm going to post a link to my You Tube channel! Hope you like the songs.

But necessary to keep conservatives from having a voice. The rules changes that they crammed into the last convention were designed to prevent the TEA party types from gaining any traction.
This is part of the overall plan to shorten the primary season in an effort to give the establishment candidate instant “inevitability” and get it over with quickly. It also includes changes to the primary rules that favor the establishment and the further enforcing of “open” primaries allowing libs to cross over and vote for the most milquetoast (establishment) republican. ALL in an effort to keep control of the party away from conservatives.
After all, they would rather lose the White House than lose the party. The establishment is A-Okay with how things are in Washington right now.
