Sure they knew they were going to get something good out of him, nothing wrong with that. I don’t think there was anything smug about it, she did her job, go to the player that made the most recent big play, a guy with a history of having something to say and ask him his thoughts on the big play. And really it wasn’t even a fireball, he said some rude things about Crabtree, but they weren’t profane, and they were true. Most of the players in the league think the controversy on this is stupid, and if that hadn’t been the second to last football game of the year with nothing for 2 weeks it would have already blown over. But there’s nothing else to talk about, and time must be filled.
Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar and not part of some great conspiracy. He didn’t do anything wrong, Andrews didn’t do anything wrong, and people who think either did need to get their heads checked because they’re adding a lot of content from in their own head.
