I don't mind the tax break for the NFL. I just think the rest of us should get the same tax break. Make it a level playing field and all that jazz.

I don't mind the tax break for the NFL. The NFL is tax-free because it is a trade association formed by the teams. The teams give the league office (or the league office takes from the top of broadcast contracts and merchandising before distribution to the teams) only enough to run the office. It is an expense for the teams rather than a profit making organization on its own. This is unlike most other franchised companies where both the parent company and the franchises make money. The teams (with the possible exception of the Packers and their odd public stock ownership) are profit making companies subject to taxes.

“Nice tax-exempt status you’ve got there, hate to see anything happen to it.”
Explains a lot of the reason the NFL has gone so PC.

I don't know what this guy does, but that seems like a lot of money for whatever it is.
It's a game and it's a game I don't even follow or care anything about.
The last football game I saw was in 1969 in High School.
That is a lot of money.

He steers the league, the over arching direction decider behind a machine that makes 11 billion dollars a years. Pretty cheap really.

The NFL is the circuses part of the Bread and Circuses policy that FedGov started 4 years ago. Of course they get a tax break.

I still don't get it and have never seen a game.
To: discostu
Well, maybe the league office really did make a profit of $14.75 million, and the true value of Goodell’s labor is only $14.75 million, and the commissioner simply took the profits.

Nice trick for a nonprofit 501(c).

I want them to pay for their own stadiums using their money instead of us all the time with “temporary” tax increases that are never temporary and higher and higher ticket prices and cable bills to watch way overpaid guys play football/baseball/basketball.
