On Friday, as I noted on Saturday, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo told public radio's Susan Arbetter that "extreme conservatives" – that is, people who are pro-life, understand the clear meaning of the Second Amendment, or wish to keep marriage as it has traditionally been defined – "have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are." Note well that Cuomo's remarks are still not news at the Associated Press's national site.
On Sunday, Cuomo's people sent and released an "open letter" containing a very inaccurate transcription of the original interview accusing the New York Post's Aaron Short of being "entirely reckless with facts and the truth" in his report ("Gov. Cuomo to conservatives: Leave NY!"). As I demonstrated on Monday, the only reasonable interpretation of what Cuomo said is that Republican Party members who hold any one of the three positions noted in the previous paragraph "have no place in the state of New York." In the past several days, the matter has escalated. The Post has continued to cover the story – that's what newspapers are supposed to do – while, in an extraordinary move, the Counsel to the Governor has entered the fray with what can only be interpreted as threatening language.

This is what it took? New Yorkers aren't any different now than they were before he made those remarks. In fact the majority are exactly as he described them. I long ago vowed never to spend any funds in NY or any of the other northeastern police states.
But if they leave NY, who will pay the exorbitant taxes?

Wonder how the idiot governor would react to an alternative to Wall Street springing up in another state and taking all that cash and tax money with it?

It has long been a lotto dream of mine to find some nice rural town in the eastern time zone such as Beckley, West Virginia or Pigeon Forge, Tennessee who would let me build a giant cow on their main square, hold a media event around it every New Year’s Eve where country and patriotic singers gather to perform and, as the stroke of midnight approaches, the cow lifts her tail and drops a giant plop on a replica model of New York’s Times Square to ring in the New Year.

You’re likely right about that being the end result. Several of the people in the neighborhood are from the east coast and love being in Texas. There is one gal who hates being down there though. Seems she thinks we talk funny, eat weird food, are obsessed with guns and just totally uneducated bumpkins. She told her husband she’s moving back to New York with or without him this summer. Suspect it will be without him. He seems to fit right in, has a great job, got his permit to carry, just bought his third gun and is going hunting with some of the guys in the neighborhood this fall. Pretty funny...

I’m sure I probably watched this very episode. We didn’t miss any that I recall. So fitting for this neighborhood couple. Remember that we had one of our regular monthly neighborhood cookouts one weekend last year. My grandson showed up with some cotton he had picked. The female neighbor was simply amazed when she saw it as she did not realize that cotton grew in the fields. Of course all the natives laughed at her.
