Democrat Jennifer Wexton bested two veteran Loudoun County politicians Tuesday night to earn a seat in the Senate of Virginia and almost assuredly give Virginia Democrats majority power in Richmond for the first time since 2009.
Ms. Wexton's victory over Republican John Whitbeck and former Republican state Del. Joe May, running his Senate race as an independent, caps a momentous two months for Democrats in Virginia, whom last November swept the top three offices in the commonwealth – the governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general posts – for the first time in two decades.

It could be that republicans didn’t turn out because they knew the vote was split. Either way, the liberals have to love these clowns.

Well what proof do you have that non liberals of any kind can do anything about the hard leftist takeover of Virginia?
My gut feeling is (which could be wrong but I don’t think so)
is that Cucinelli lost because he came across as too conservative on social issues. Women voters and border line independents have a knee jerk reaction against socons. People are generally dumb on what issues really affect them in real life. Personally I was not born a Christian, but Christians of any stripe are just fine with me so long as they are conservative on fiscal, military and immigration issues. But then I consider myself smarter than average haha.
30% of Fairfax County is foreign born compared to 15% in 1990. Demography is destiny.
Foreign born does not necessarily mean 100% democrat. Yours truly is foreign born and voted republican in every election since 1968 Nixon.
But what that means is repubs need a smarter candidate who can appeal to more people. Winning is the only thing...Vince Lombardi. Losers, no matter how principled, have zero power to change anything.
The 2 republicans split the vote!!! Democrat will win everytime.. THe Ind should have dropped out or the Republican...
White Virginia voters are still center-right:
Romney - 61%
Obama - 37%
The problem is the large number of non-white Virginia voters.
Blacks, Hispanics, and Asians are 35% of eligible voters.
When they turn out, Republicans lose.
And, once again, the GOP vote split between two candidates.
White - 61%
Asian - 16%
Hispanic - 13%
Black - 8%
Anyone know the dominant Asian group there?
If they are Asian Indians, that explains everything.
Asian Indians are the most Hard Left immigrant group in the USA.
They voted 90% for Obama in 2008 and 2012.

More importantly, 80% of all of Fairfax and surrounding counties nurses on the government nipple......
Wish there were a way we could split the state, Northern Virginia and Virginia - the rest of us. It worked with West Virginia.........
Wrong. We Virginians didn’t do this. NOVA (Northern Virginia) grew off the government tit to where it stole our state from we who are truly Virginians. They are mostly foreigners and out-of-staters who came here to get rich on gov. money......
We were invaded - from the north. Cut off all northern/eastern counties and you have the real Virginia - and it’s conservative......except for the cities of Richmond, Charlottesville and Roanoke......
Then vote them out of the Commonwealth. You also have a corrupt and progressive republican machine that loves helping democrats. Need to purge them too.
Can’t vote them out. They outnumber us.

The ‘independent’ third candidate is now the favorite tactic of the left. We must do something to stop these people. No doubt the Dems are paying third party candidaftes big sums under the table to run.
The number of Muslims in Falls Church, Arlington and Alexandria is astonishing. They seem to be multiplying like rabbits and in the last 7 or 8 years the women have taken to prominently wearing scarves and in other ways showing they are separate and numerous. Many of the businesses they run have the worst imaginable public service and they barely conceal the contempt they have for their customers.
Hopefully their customers will then stop being customers........
