I went in this morning, of course! :)
The traffic was light and I made it in at 7:00. The ride home was dramatically different. Our building closed at 2:00 p.m. I exited the parking garage and turned left onto 21st St. - a sloppy mess. When the light turned green I turned onto Pennsylvania Ave. and my tires would not grip the road notwithstanding my gentle touch with the gas pedal.
I made it onto Rock Creek Parkway and wended my way up through the park. The speed limit there is 35 - I was moving at about 15, being tailgated and passed - some people have no brains.
I exited the park onto 16th Street and saw an SUV on the right that had crashed into a light-post. I drove up 16th St., a straight shot, and was again tailgated and passed by a number of people. During my entire drive through N.W. DC, I did not see a snow-plow.
As I Entered Maryland, the roads improved. I was several miles up the road - outside the Beltway - before I saw a snow plow. As I drove north on rt. 29, I saw an SUV overturned on the southbound side and a couple of County Cops dealing with it. After I made it up the next hill, the roads substantially improved and I was able to make the remainder of the trip home, including stopping for gas, vino, and my son David. A two hour journey.

O stranger, tell the Lacedaemonians that we lie here, obedient to their command.
Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

Two hours and a safe return...can’t beat that. I also choose to go slow and let folks go around. I only drive the speed I feel comfortable with....with a lot of stopping space in front of me.
Thankfully I don’t have to drive as far as you do. I couldn’t do it.
