House GOP Plans To Save Obama With Immigration Reform (Ted Cruz speaks against amnesty)

Immigration: President Obama expects House Republicans to jump-start his presidency by embracing amnesty for illegal aliens. But if it does, the GOP could wreck its chances to take back the Senate.

Republicans should own the issue of immigration. After all, the last time — 1986 — the nation took the "comprehensive" approach that Democrats now propose, nothing ended up being fixed in exchange for the amnesty for millions of illegals. And today, insisting on securing the border before doing anything else is no-lose politically.

Yet the House GOP is poised to use a piecemeal strategy as cover to enact, more or less, the Democrats' agenda on immigration — giving the party millions of dependable Democratic votes as a consequence. What political party in the history of the world has ever been this self-loathing?

As the Hill reported last week, Senate Democrats were told by Obama to expect House Speaker John Boehner to succeed this year in passing an immigration reform that would include amnesty. The president told them he believes Republicans fear that opposing it would render them politically vulnerable. A tell-tale sign: Boehner recently hired former John McCain immigration specialist Becky Tallent.

Boehner is set to release a one-page list of immigration "principles" some time before Obama delivers his State of the Union address to Congress on Tuesday.

Not every GOP leader is of the self-destructive variety. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, a Tea Party favorite and likely 2016 presidential candidate, last month warned that an embrace of amnesty by the House GOP would ensure continued Democratic control of the Senate as the result of this year's elections.

Yes. Would they rather save themselves?

Any hint of amnesty destroys the base support. Talk of amnesty prior to 2006 was part of the low turnout for the GOP.

If the GOP truly wants to defeat themselves, they should pass amnesty.

Yes. Would they rather save themselves?

Nope, they'd rather do the bidding of their big corporate Campaign Donors, rather than represent their actual constituents, the Citizens of the U.S.

“But if it does, the GOP could wreck its chances to take back the Senate.”

It would take some serious work to convince me the GOPe wants anything but the comfortable, carefree, responsibility-free existence of minority status. If the Repubs were truly interested in winning the Senate, Mitch McConnell would not be their lead senaturd.

Agreed, it’s clear Boehner wants to pass an amnesty bill as does the GOPe.

They do, and they will. I think it is the perks they like, not serving their base. I think many of them have good friends who are rats. They are the enemy. I do not have any rat friends. I do not associate with them.

Amnesty will result in GOP losing the House. This will be erroneously bally-hooed as confirmation of the Democrat position.

The GOP will NEVER recover.

The GOP-Elites do not have to pass amnesty, they only need to say they are in favor of it, and that would absolutely assure maximum turnout of T.E.A. party people at the polls - to defeat them in the primaries.

There is not, and never has been, a place for two liberal Democrat parties in America. But there obviously is a place for a conservative party. A balanced ecological system demands it.

Savage suggests that info from the NSA filtered to OBAMA may have been responsible for CJ Roberts vote on OBAMACARE.
Also info from the NSA may have influenced Boehner’s pro-OBAMA decisions.

What do you think Obama would use info from the NSA for?

PROTECTING AMERICA????

We have Obama and the Dems looking to repeat the last midterm elections with an equally devastating Dem Party blowout loss....

But, as I warned my wife, do not underestimate the ability of the Grand Ole Party to blow this.

They are well on their way to ensuring both a short and long term one Party domination of American politics, that will ensure a crippled American is a dead America.

Sadly, the Party boys and gals can’t even see it coming.

There’s no denying that Boehner became awfully cozy with a president that’s determined to destroy us and I don’t believe 0bama has ever used intel to protect America.

Scandals: F&F, AP, IRS, NSA, Benghazi, Seals

Obamacare disaster

All of which is ignored.

And the dodo birds want to talk about Amnesty - which poll after poll after poll shows nobody - neither democrat, republican, nor independent - wants.

It’s flabbergasting how utterly stupid this party is. Not only are they derelict in their duty, they have no political sense whatsoever.
