United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon announced on Monday that he had canceled an offer for Iran to attend Syria peace negotiations after Tehran declared it does not support the June 2012 political transition deal that is the basis for the talks.
He (Ban) continues to urge Iran to join the global consensus behind the Geneva communiqué, Bans spokesman Martin Nesirky said, according to the Reuters news agency.
Given that it has chosen to remain outside that basic understanding, (Ban) has decided that the one-day Montreux gathering will proceed without Irans participation, added Nesirky.

Report: Iran to Send Warships to Atlantic

TEHRAN, Iran Iran’s state TV says the navy has sent warships on a mission to the Atlantic Ocean for the first time in the Islamic Republic’s history
The Tuesday report said that Sabalan destroyer and Khark logistic helicopter carrier will be dispatched on a three-month voyage.
