I wonder if it would be a legal option to officially stop making wedding cakes completely. But offer holy matrimony cakes for religious celebrations that meet a specific criteria.
How about bringing in a homosexual baker to make the cake?
You avoid the fight, and still get the business. Oh, by the way, “Your cake will be $17,000. Our queer baker is in high demand in other cities”.
I suppose one could try jury nullification.
In the meantime, Conservatives, where is the SUPPORT FUND for these embattled people who will probably lose everything while standing on the Constitution.
As posted in related threads, not only have the states amended the Constitution to expressly protect religious expression as evidenced by the 1st Amendment, but the states have never amended the Constitution to expressly protect so-called gay rights. So the state of Oregon is actually in violation of Section 1 of the 14th Amendment, imo, for making a law which unreasonably abridges the enumerated freedom of religous expression.
