They are clearly overestimating their market capacity.

I’d buy a couple for my wife and myself if they were priced right.

That’s good news. Izhmash rifles and shotguns have been hard to get.

I would love to have one of each, an AK and a Saiga.

And in the last two months... (Nov. 2012 and Dec. 2012)
America will swallow 200k Kalashnikovs without even a belch.

Excellent! I would imagine a few of the large sub-importers will have a field day.In Canada they likely will put the price up too high to make a purchase worthwhile.

I have a Norinco Type 56S pre ban model and I wouldn’t trade it for a Russian one to tell you the truth (although I have one or two). It is a work of art.

I think Americans prefer American.

Izhmash shotguns and rifles aren’t cheap on their domestic market. Saiga with bells and whistles is about $800-1000, Dragunov SVD is $1500-1700 without a scope in their gunshops.

If America were not the land of lawyers and gubment trough feeders, we could produce better defense shotguns, no doubt. But, with product liability insurance costing what it does, and with swarms of gubment AgencyPersons insisting we hire the mentally deficient, the crazy, and more of the ignorant and hostile Urban Ferals, who wants to?
The Saiga-12 is cheaper than American competition beccause of the above reasons, and the Kel-Tec pricing and availability is a case in point.
PS Defund AFT and watch what Americans will produce.

Very true but I have seen what the real deal sells for at gun shows in this state and that market will see prices decrease.

Remember back around 1990 when Russkie SKS's were selling for $90 each and they weren't that bad of an old military rifle. I had bought five. When we moved to Alaska, I had 2 gun vaults packed full in my 31 foot trailer, no room for the junk SKS's. I gave them away to relatives. Here along the Yukon everybody uses those SKS's to hunt caribou, the Indians luv them too. I shake my head to think I gave them away back East.
I bet those Russian Guns will go quick. Tac TV had a few shows from Russia several weeks back, can't wait, I want a couple Russkie Guns myself.
