These little girls are from Nikolasse. They were fed and taken care of by an American soldier. I have read the letters they sent back and forth along with little gifts to each other. The soldier and his wife write them back and do the same. The little girls congratulate them on their baby in 1950. I noticed they always end their letters as "your little friend" A lot of pictures of American soldiers feeding and otherwise caring for German children. My Father fed two name Fritz and Ingrid. Ingrid was teaching him German. She would often get upset by Daddy's poor scholarship and would say: Nein! Nein! I don't believe Daddy made any effort to keep up with them mainly because he had 5 of his on.
