This is pretty much the way the Roman Republic fell. Consuls grabbed more and more power, violated laws, and the Senate did nothing; becoming little more than a rich mens debating society. Great point.
Also, the welfare state of the Roman Empire expanded to the point where free food were given to everyone and the aggressive support of their military was reduced. When the northern tribes conquered Rome there was very little resistance.
I think the path we are on is not going to end well for the USA. My hope at this point is that the decline is slow enough that I don't see the end of the republic. I believe secession is the only path out of this now and the right doesn't have the desire for it.

The Founding Fathers had a solution for people like him.
It's yet to be seen how their descendants will handle it...

As if this spineless fool could even feed himself. He depends on his RINO and Democrat lap dogs to act for him. As well as the millions of deadbeat morons who voted for him.

Opportunity for those willing to work for it was pretty much what we had before Obama came along. It will never happen again, as long as he or his ilk are in office.

This is so stupid.
Barky must know it's the troll from under the bridge in Nevada who's choking back meaningful jobs legislation.

When there’s an outcry over his accesses he’ll declare a national emergency and have marshal law. Then he’ll continue in the presidency like Mugabe for life.

Gee, this sounds so familiar...A Blast From the Past?
The Labour Charter of 1927, promulgated by the Grand Council of Fascism, stated in article 7:
“The corporative State considers private initiative, in the field of production, as the most efficient and useful instrument of the Nation,” then goes on to say in article 9 that: “State intervention in economic production may take place only where private initiative is lacking or is insufficient, or when are at stakes the political interest of the State. This intervention may take the form of control, encouragement or direct management.”

Ever get the feeling that the future of Louie the 14th could be waiting for him.
The 14th Louis did okay. The 16th Louis came across some...bumps in the road.

What a self aggrandizing buffoon. Does he realize how absolutely moronic he sounds?
The blathering about maintaining a laser-like focus while never resting wore out the second time he said it.
Besides, in the context of 17 day vacations he doesn't seem particularly worried--a 17 day vacation is something indulged in by someone who is retired or recovering from a medical problem, not someone with a job where their talents are valued...

Its a partnership between companies, colleges, and the federal government... More fascism 101. "Partnership" implies a working relationship between equal, agreeable entities. But of course when one of the "partners" is government, there's a bully in the room who can and will demand its will, using the full weight its own laws (plus the IRS and other such motivators) to force the other "partners" to comply.
Yes, how convenient for Barak Thugbama and his cult of malevolent fellow travelers.
Fascism = communism by proxy. I suppose that's why for all of his own initiatives-from-hell, Barak "I don't write code" Obama nonetheless positions himself as the detached outsider looking in [at all the destruction he caused].
manufacturing innovation institute.
Just more Obamaspeak for forced submission to the will of beast.gov.

There was also massive currency fluctuation and devaluation repeated over and over. Adding the need for ever expanding revenue and a tax base caused the empire to grant citizenship to more and more people which in effect watered down the meaning and privileges citizenship conferred until it became of enslaving people as tax slaves rather than conferring rights and privileges. Anyone can see in the NT when for Paul being a citizen meant something. 3 to 400 years later it meant nothing of the kind. We can see the same parallels in America as the rules are becoming so onerous no illegal or noncitizen would want to become one or play by the rules unless forced to do so.
