Obama to Dems: Boehner will pass immigration reform in 2014
The Hill ^ | February 17, 2014 | Alexander Bolton

President Obama has told Senate Democrats he expects Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) to pass immigration reform this year, defying predictions the issue is dead for 2014.

Obama believes Republicans will feel politically vulnerable, if they fail to advance the issue, a high priority among Hispanic voters, according to Democratic senators who met with the president this week. Obama sees immigration reform as a source for optimism in what has otherwise shaped up as a tough year for Democrats.

If House passes immigration "reform" I'm done. Notice Obama did not say when. We could stabbed in the back after the primaries or during the post-election session.

I’m sure they’re working on a 20k “comprehensive” Amnesty bill that no one will bother reading as we speak. :)

If it passes we will have the US Chamber of Commerce to thank.

We ought to start thanking them now, and every day until the Republican majority takes office next January.

They knew and said publicly that ObamaCare was in the bag at the Roberts’ court. They seem similarly confident about Boehner. Probably for the same reasons.

This is step 1. Obama publicly says to his side that Boehner will pass amnesty.

Step 2 is to now go to Boehner and say, "John, you're not going to make me out to be a liar in front of the country, are you?"

That's all it will take to smoke Boehner out and roll him.

The Republican Party doesn’t seem to want to win. They seem to want to be wiped out in 2014 elections, thereby “vindicating” Obama

U6, or real unemployment, is about 11%. Only a Congressperson who is actively working AGAINST the interests of American workers could pass this at this point in history..

PERFECT ..!!!!!!

Approximately 6.5 NEW VOTERS FOR THE DEMS.

I guess that’s how you kill your party in one fell swoop! Plus, YOU CAN KISS AMERICA GOODBYE!!!

When are these elites going to stop believing they are getting even one of those voters for themselves ..??

When are these elites going to STOP LISTENING TO THE DEMS TELL THEM HOW TO RUN THE COUNTRY ..??

When are these elites going to STOP BELIEVING THE DEMS WHEN THEY TELL THEM TO DO STUPID STUFF LIKE - AMNESTY ..?????

Good grief ..!!!!!!

CLARIFICATION: U6 is 13.1% a of Dec 2013. The 11% rate I mentioned is what the U3 would be if people who dropped out of the active labor force were included in the rate.

Me too. If they pass this, then they have lost the majority of the Republican party, I reckon. Then, it’s time to build a REAL Tea Party.

Isn't that the definition of insanity? When (not if) amnesty passes, the pubbies will become a permanent minority. There is a reason they are called the stupid party.

It will happen. Witless Republicans will do nothing to p!$$ off all those potential Hispanic voters...even though they fail to realize they have no chance of getting their votes anyway.
