No Problem!
All small businesses will become proprietorships, staffed with independent contractors.
The contractors are given a schedule to show up for work, and be paid for the hours that they worked.
No workers comp; no benefits; no sick pay; no vacations; no scheduled advancement; no social security; no tax withholdings.
Socialist Utopia!!
I guess the majority of NYC voters like weird commies in office. They get what they deserve.
Like in Europe. The world's largest temporary staffing agency, Ranstad, is based in Denmark.
Let them crap where they eat.
I like this.
This is a great test-tube experiment.
Do progressives (libs ) ideas work or not?
Great news,
Lets see how it compares to cities in Texas.
They will pine for the days of Herr Bloomberg after this latest nut gets through his term.
They will pine for the days of Herr Bloomberg after this latest nut gets through his term.
“NY has produced a TV commercial which entices businesses to move to NY by not having to pay taxes for ten years; something like that.”
Yeah, get established and those 10 years fly by then the state starts knocking your brains out with taxes.
Herr Bloomberg started the forced sickday pay.
“Like in Europe. The world’s largest temporary staffing agency, Ranstad, is based in Denmark.”
The concept is new in Spain; temps were illegal until a couple of years ago. When the government pushed businesses to hire more people, they agreed on the condition that it wouldn’t be the “employment-for-life” jobs that had characterized Western Europe’s workforce for decaded; employers wanted some flexibility, and the government relented.
Bloomberg can only look good in comparison to DeBlasio; he wanted a playground for the wealthy, where they wouldn’t have to see smokers or heavy people...
More small businesses will employ people “off the books”, paying them in cash for hours worked - no benefits & no taxes withheld.
Some employers will cut employee wages by 2% to cover the 5 days.
Some businesses will fire that 5th employee.
The result: the NYC economy will decline, welfare rolls will increase, as will property crime.
5 sick days? That would be gone easily during flu season. I get 11 a year and it is just enough. You figure between annual physical, 2 dental exams, and various other medical situations and then bring the kids into it, five is horrible.
How many businesses will have only 19 employees by the end of the year?
5??? Why does Mayor De Wilhelm hate working families?
I’m down to 175 days. Seriously. We get to carry them forward.
Santa Claus is coming to town.
Im down to 175 days. Seriously. We get to carry them forward.
lol. I am too new to have such a wonderful balance as that. We can’t go over 240 hours.
With lumps of (clean) coal for all.
Because the Manifesto dictates abolition of the family, of course.
