I am 59, one good friend of mine is 65 and another is 70. Is that long enough? I could name dozens more who are mere acquaintances. I don’t know any burnouts or unaccomplished people for that matter.

Thank you! I know 30+year BOEING employees that have smoked their entire lives, are now retired, and all did the right thing: saving $$ in their pensions, paying off their houses, now living a nice retirement. I know PSYCHOLOGISTS nearing 70 who've smoked their entire lives. I think I know more people who smoke than don't, and NONE of them are the deadbeats people assume them to be. I'd take weed over alcohol ANY DAY.
