The feedback continues, with a bunch of military veterans and family members asking me how I could defend the callous COLA cuts to military pensions by way of explaining why Congress is trying to undo them. Another reader email:
I strenuously object to being asked to sacrifice any more! I risked my life in two deployments to war zones, sacrificed my health (I'm also a disabled veteran), and jeopardized my relationship with my family for my country. I find Congress' latest demand a kick in the gut. We veterans and retirees have sacrificed enough without having to endure the pain of COLA cuts. Congress must first reduce the COLA for all current federal retirees (including members of Congress) and Social Security recipients and demand additional sacrifices from non-military Americans. Or better yet, I'm sure there are $6 billion that could be saved by closing corporate tax loopholes, cutting farm subsidies to wealthy corporations, etc. There are at least $6 billion in waste in the defense budget alone. The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter will cost at least $400 billion, and it doesn't even work! But military veterans and retirees should be the last group Congress asks for more sacrifice.
If I've heard this much, I can only imagine what Republicans have been getting in their voicemails and inboxes. On The Hugh Hewitt Show yesterday, Paul Ryan was handed the hideous job of defending the cuts against a host who found them morally outrageous.
"Had Mitt and I won that election, this would not be required," said Ryan. "This would not be necessary."
Hewitt wouldn't have it. "This will destroy retention," he said. "It will destroy morale, and it is deeply unfair to the American military which has sacrificed more than anyone else."

Perot was way back in bush v Clinton 92
*****************************
Yes, and the GOP convention was in Houston. The POW MIA action groups were all over—a parade type deal. They endorsed Clinton, not Bush.
“Romney and Ryan are rationalizations for the things you object to.”
No they weren’t. They were two very concrete Republican choices that I made by voting for them, imperfect mortals that they may have been, in order to avoid the alternative, Herr Obama. I assume you made an alternative choice, thus helping to guarantee that Obama would be our President. If anyone rationalized it would be you. You rationalized that Obama would be the preferred pick, knowing he was a socialist/commie/pinko/fascist over an “unpure” Republican candidate, and that indeed is what we got. A fool’s rationalization indeed.
Step one: Scream nonsensically
Step 2: Throw self on floor
Step 3: Scream more nonsensically
Step 4: Kick legs and flail arms wildly
Step 5: Check to see if desired reaction by adults has achieved
Step 6: Scream louder
Step 7: Check again
Step 8: Repeat steps 4-7
Step 9: Hols breath until facial color resembles blueberry
Step 10: Pass out without having achieved the attention you crave, nor the result you wanted.
Appendix: Realize that Mitt is still a POS but love him anyway.
We hope you’ve enjoyed your explanation of your actions on the thread thus far.
I doubt it
“They were two very concrete Republican choices”
your problem is obvious.
I really should check peoples pages before wasting my time.
Work at a major university in Chicago
Was a Republican Committeeman
that explains everything.
“We hope youve enjoyed your explanation of your actions on the thread thus far.”
Whose we? You and your wolfpack members that always show up on these threads? I haven’t explained any of my actions. Why bother when I have you to explain them for me? Plus I must say you have a real “Daddy” complex. Always talking about others as being 2 year olds, flailing about like children, etc. etc. etc. What are you, 105 years old that you are so fixated on childish behavior. Wishing to regress yourself? Or is that what you see when you look in a mirror, that which you accuse others of being. Freud could have a lot of fun with you. Good night. Have a nice night’s sleep and don’t forget to take your meds.
“Was a Republican Committeeman
that explains everything.”
Yes, it explains normal people who for years have been conservative Republicans. What are you, a libertarian? Something else? Who did you vote for? Did you vote at all? What are you, anything? An anarchist? Populist? Did you vote 3rd Party? Were any of the other third parties pure enough for you? Or do you want to form your own, a 3rd party of one, with only those who think exactly like you able to apply for membership? I hope no one else thinks exactly like you. Quelle horreur!
Repeating the steps outlined does not advance your position of devotion Ms./Mrs. former Republican committeeman.
Calling your ideological opponents a wolfpack lacking any proof is straight of the university handbook for political organizing in any Chicago university. Or Saul Al Y nsk I.
Conservatives don’t defend people that fund baby killers unless your brand of conservatism resembles the liberal brand of christianity.
Mine doesn’t.
“I really should check peoples pages before wasting my time.”
At least I’ve got a page. You’re a nothing. But I already knew that. Now go to bed so that you can work up a full head of steam and venom for tomorrow’s posts. Sleep tight and don’t let the bed bugs bite.
Oh the horror. Called a nothing by a woman that thinks Mitt Romney is a ‘Solid Republican choice’. Hmmm...
Sorta like having Jessie Jackson call someone a racist.
Oh shame, where is thy sting?
“Conservatives dont defend people that fund baby killers unless your brand of conservatism resembles the liberal brand of christianity.
Mine doesnt.”
Go tell that to Paul Ryan. And you facilitated a true baby killer being our President. One who is proactively for late term abortion. Nice job, Mr. Hypocrite.
Ryan has proved himself cheap. Romney’s political infidelity was known in advance. But the hope the pair would somehow halt the decline was something I voted for as well. Today, I’m doubtful they would have done anything but entrench the current state of socialism further within the ranks of the Republican party.
Nope. I didn’t vote for Obama. Is lying repeatedly about how elections operate in America a solid Republican choice too? I see why you voted for your ideological soulmate.
PS...Solid Republican choices are anti abortion, anti ‘gay’ (special) rights, anti crony capitalism Anti screwing veterans and anti being on all sides of all issues.
If that now truly defines a Solid Republican choice, I’m glad the party left me.
Arent you going to bed or something?
“Im doubtful they would have done anything but entrench the current state of socialism further within the ranks of the Republican party”
I’m sure you bettered yourself with Obama, right? Now, instead of worrying that Romney/Ryan might have further entrenched socialism, you have a full blown case of entrenched socialism, and as Obama has 3 more years left to wreak havoc, it may be so entrenched as to take years to dig out from under. And there is no guarantee of that as Obama is busy stacking the deck in the courts, has a total ally and lapdog in the MSM, is busy signing executive orders further spreading his socialist agenda, and has his regime passing rules and regulations daily. Not even counting socialist Obamacare.
And you worry about what Romney/Ryan might have done? It’s BEING done, right this very minute by Obama. And you are lying to yourself if you think that Romney/Ryan would have done even 1/16th of what is being done now as to socialism. In fact they wouldn’t have. And I suspect your know it.
Oh? show this proof of what happened in your fictional universe. You don’t KNOW squat. You believe.
I don’t believe. I go by Romney’s record of action in office. Today, I SEE Ryan’s actions since the election. Neither requires ‘belief’. Because both are FACT.
“PS...Solid Republican choices are anti abortion, anti gay (special) rights, anti crony capitalism Anti screwing veterans and anti being on all sides of all issues.”
P.S., you now have all of that in spades with Obama. Congratulations. Nice job. Well done. Bravo. Good choice on your part. And yes Obama was your choice, as you didn’t vote for the only candidates that could have beat him.
P.P.S. I’m Dracula. I don’t sleep at night. Will climb into my coffin at dawn. Bet you’d just love to have a stake available at that time, lol. Actually, if you were to put a cape on Obama, along with giving him a set of fangs, he’s the spitting image of a vampire. Really.
“I dont believe.”
Oh yes you do. You believe in Obama, as you and your ilk made sure he was elected.
Not at all. Going through life believing the things you do in the face of all available evidence to the contrary must be far more painful than a steak.
Pain should be a good teacher. Well, for most anyway. Some people can’t be taught. You for instance.
