American universities are places of art and music, gleaming labs and fine old buildings, famous libraries and fancy football stadiums, old traditions and new thinking, beauty, youth and brains about everything you could want. Except guns. Apparently, there just aren't enough guns in those ivy-covered halls.
Never fear: second amendment fundamentalists mean to correct what they see as the sad paucity of weapons on campus. In Florida, a gaggle of true believers calling themselves Florida Carry busies itself arguing that institutions of higher learning have no right to ban guns on their taxpayer-funded property. I mean, why wouldn't you want to pack heat in a class like Organic Chemistry II? Florida Carry's attack is gradual: last year they prevailed in a suit to let students at the University of North Florida stash guns in their cars; this year, they're aiming to force the University of Florida to allow its 50,000 students to keep guns in their dormitories.
Genius! Imagine: students living six to a hutch, hopped up on Red Bull, vodka, stress, lust, Adderall, Spicy Chipotle BBQ Doritos, MIA and Grand Theft Auto 5. Now add a few .38s and maybe a deer rifle or two. The stakes in those passionate late-night debates over the origin of the universe suddenly get a lot higher.
Of course, Florida is no stranger to gun controversies. George Zimmerman killed Trayvon Martin for walking while hoodied....

It must be a symptom of whatever disease causes leftsm that they all project. This little lady can’t imagine having a gun and not using it when angry. No one who knows me would claim I’m a stranger to anger. I’ve never broken out a gun and shot anyone, however.
No doubt another angry feminist subject, raving and raging with penis AND Gun envy. Sucks to be her.
I my GI bill to attend a gunsmithing school on a college campus. There were hundreds of guns and the ammo for them all around us every day. This was on the campus of a public college with many other areas of instruction being taught and many students who were not in the gunsmithing program attending that school. There were students doing homework on guns in the dorms and openly carrying firearms from the gunshop to their vehicles all the time. We had a clearing barrel right outside of the door of the gunshop where we would fire rifles, shotguns, and handguns for function tests. There was no panic from the gunshots, no crimes committed with firearms, and no complaints from the other students. That facility at that college is still there and teaching gunsmithing today.
We also did not have crazy people bringing weapons on campus and shooting innocent students. The students and the community knew that the gunsmithing students and instructors were there and all had immediate access to firearms. I have to wonder how these gun grabbing Nazis can make this situation/reality/fact fit in with their totally irrational and unproven Bu11 $hit theories about guns on campus.
There is more than one college in our nation that teaches gunsmithing on campus. The courses require many tens of different firearms for each student to work on. Each student is required to provide all of these weapons for themselves. Every student, by course requirement, has what would now be referred to as an arsenal. With those hundreds of guns readily accessible to thirty to forty students and staff there were no murders, treats with a weapon or accidental discharges on that campus.
The icing on the cake is that this is going on to this day on a California college campus. I hope the anti-gun, lying, zealots choke on this truth and reality. I do thank them for their paying taxes that paid my GI Bill so I could attend this fine program and complete my professional certificate.
Just giving her a fair choice. She is probably both but I’m willing to let her make the call. ;-)
Your relatives don’t need to curse her. She’s cursed herself... she’s an unhappy soul.
Defending what God has blessed is another blessing of God. God gets awfully peeved when people try to block blessings that He has sworn.
But God also gets awfully peeved when we try to solve the problem by standing on our own pride.
The supernatural logjam on blessings needs to get cleared if we really want the blessings. Coming to God as a little child works better than all the grownup schemes in the world.
It seems as though highly educated university professors are among the most ignorant bumpkins in the country.
We’ve seen this ad nauseum. Because GZ did not take the maximum of precautions (and granted he could have, but still TW had the biggest cloud hanging over him), GW is getting scapegoated with all the blame. Little spats between him and his girlfriend are being blown up into national affairs now.
WOW! Next thing ya know they’ll be outlawing “gayness” in Nigeria or something and really give the guardian something to whine about. Oh, wait. That already happened and the biggest whiner so far is john f’n kerry-heinz.
In 2007, one of our most prolific mass murderers, Seung-Hui Cho, killed 32 people at Virginia Tech. Another armed person may have cut his killing spree short.
Those Highway Patrol episodes were interesting.
Here's Clint Eastwood in one episode.
>> I mean, why wouldn’t you want to pack heat in a class like Organic Chemistry II?
Exactly. Why wouldn’t you? After all, you have to drive to the campus, park in a parking lot, walk to class, sit in class, and then walk back to the car, and drive home. How many of those places have an armed guard that is less than a second away from your side? Can the university guarantee that an assailant with a knife or illegal gun CAN NOT be in those places?
>>Who still carries a .38?
I carry a J-frame from time to time.

Does not having them prevent fires from starting?
In a civilized society, it wouldn’t matter how may guns were on university campuses. Unfortunately, we don’t live in a civilized society in this country.
Since universities tend to revere statistical studies, how about one concerning the prevalence of violent crimes on campuses with and without guns (or before and after a change in gun policy)?
I’d be pretty sure that would show something the liberals would not like.
